NameJet vs Other Marketplaces

As we know, NameJet asks for exclusivity when listing your domain names for sale, which means, they want you to take down all other listings of the domain names they are listing for you from the other marketplaces.

This is a heavy requirement by itself, do you guys think being able to sell on NameJet outweighs the cost of not listing on various marketplaces?

Is being able to sell on NameJet the best you can get in terms of exposure and chances of selling?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
i would assume, the policy is to prevent a "sales conflict".

where the domain may get an offer or be sold @ BIN elsewhere, while at the same time, users are bidding on it at namejet.

that scenario, potentially, could have negative affect on the "reliability and credibility" of their platform

you don't want such occurrences to occur so often, that they become a pattern.

imo...

That makes sense, the only reason I am asking is that Godaddy and Sedo and other platforms don't have such requirements.

Also, what's your opinion on the last question in the post?

i never sold any names on NJ,
and since i've been selling domains for a few years now.... then i'd have to say no, it's not the best from my perspective.

to me, it's the domain, not the venue, which draws the interest.
though the venue, depending on the volume of visitors, in some cases, can be the primary lead generator.

once a venue gets hyped or becomes mainstream, then users will choose that place or another database to backorder thru, and that too is dependent on their success rate of catching names.

or the user knows a particular name is being auctioned on a particular venue and goes there to bid.

but i think whois gives great exposure too and if someone contacts you from there, your chances of getting a higher offer or sale, might be more than you'd get on any particular venue.

imo....

Still trying to figure out which works best. I believe namejet is doing a good job. Exclusivity is not really a concern if the market provides the needed exposure

What's your preferred marketplace in that case?

I'm about to list with Namejet. Exclusivity is yet another hassle I'm seeing with them. that plus the whole "you can't list a domain withing the 60 expiration period of a domain" thing.

so if you plan to list domains with them and say liquidate a bunch of domains with them it's not going to be easy as you will need to remove those domains from all the other sites.

These sites like Godaddy and Sedo make easy enough for you to upload domain lists in bulk.

but do they have a Bulk Remove? lol I don't think so. so you will need to manually find one domain at a time and delete.

That is soo not "Domaining like a Boss!" lol (check my photo) lol

as for "marketplaces" outside of "forums", i've sold more names via Sedo, but i don't have a preferred marketplace for listing domain names

i've had inquires and a couple of sales from InternetTraffic
i've had inquires and a sale or two via Fabulous
i've had inquiries via ParkingCrew and Voodoo
i've had a sale or two via Afternic
i get inquiries and have completed deals via whois
and every now and then, i'll get a phone call

typically, i don't auction names, unless there's an offer that's equivalent to what i'd consider selling the name for.

at sedo, in domain management, you can select from your list and "bulk" delete

Thanks biggie but I meant putting a list copy paste and bulk delete not have to go to your sedo or GoDaddy list and manually picking one by one checking each box and deleting.

Unless I missed it.
