Augmented Reality (AR) domains

Last night I ignored the urge to register SpaceShipThree.com , and today the .com .net .org and .whatnot is all taken.

Today I decided to redeem myself and find another good dn investment. After a bit of investigation I discovered the huge potential of Augmented Reality: Google Trends: augmented reality . The estimated AR market size in 2014 is $732,000,000 , especially in AR marketing.

I think adverts and billboards shown as augmented reality on mobiles will become simply huge, and so I decided to get a piece of the pie, all new .com registrations:

ar+
advert
adverts
billboard
billboards
registrar

There are still a lot of possibilities available, so I thought I'd share this so you can also get a piece of the action :santa:

Just have one AR domain, but pretty happy about it:

Really excited by AR, loving some of the ARkit demos.

Don’t buy into AR will have limitations because of accidents or people could file clams. That’s like saying like smartphones can’t be popular because someone could be on their phone messing about Facebook, not looking where they are going and get hit by a car and sue Apple for it :joyful:

Doesn’t work like that; it’s a person’s own responsibility to be aware of their surrounding/watching where they are going.

I don’t think people will ever be walking around with AR specs in the streets on a large scale in the near or distant future though, it’s too intrusive/unfashionable and would be a hindrance to your own and other people’s safety if everyone did it.

Phones are different; they just fit in a pocket making it the ideal accessory, so can't see anything replacing mobiles for the foreseeable future.

Happens every day. It is mostly unlawful to text & drive. Many restrictions on video screen size and use in vehicles too. Like I said, I think AR will be huge too, but its use will be tricky. Being in a virtual or real world will be night and day, even though Virtual can feel like real world. Augmented reality will be combo of both. Will be interesting to see how each technology unfolds over the coming years. Like you, can't see such a perfectly small device as our smartphone become obsolete. But of course, I hated to give up my bag phone.:)

I think I've figured out a solution for AR. Something I've never heard before. Give me a day to think about it.

... which is surely why ARinsurance is long gone (replying to the walking-around issue above)

Developers are gushing over Apple's ARKit.
so i got
ARKitclasses /com
ARexpert/s /com
ARcampus \org

OK, here goes my theory. This is for physical store shopping like grocer, home depot, clothes...etc. Walk in the door and clear AR glasses await. Most folks don't really like google glass because they never know if they are being videoed. These will be store owned clear vision, non video AR glasses. As the customers walk through the store, certain items will display relevant information on the lenses like sale price, cost/oz, lb, serving...etc, rebates, discounts....etc. There will be the cost of putting the rfid tag on the items, but AR at its finest. As the customer leaves the store they place glasses on conveyor belt that runs thru sanitizer to be ready for next customer. A little sensor inside glasses so customer doesn't leave the store with them. Any thoughts on this?

People will not want to share glasses, I do believe there is room for Ar glasses in the future but in this situation there must be a better solution

Even if they are sanitized between users? I was wondering the same thing myself. These VR arcades share headsets though. Not sure how they clean them? Can't be much worse than buffets that million flock to.

Do we all want to like "geeks" when shopping? Whilst I agree that extra info via Ar is a good thing I am on the fence on this one. I do have ariglasses though

Yeah I used to also stay away clear of AR until I realized that VR will be used for specific reasons and during limited periods of time while AR will be replacing our phones, TVs, laptops and will be everywhere from our cars to our shopping centers...ads and information everywhere. There's a risk that AR will engulf our lives to the point that VR headsets may collect dust, especially if AR gaming becomes more popular.

If I were a gambler, I would rather be able to play slots while watching TV, or doing a second activity, like how we do with our phones...AR will allow us to do that. Total immersion is good for games, simulations and movies that completely immerse you, but there are 1000x more applications for AR involving the real world. With so many leaders in tech saying that AR will overshadow other immersive technologies, it makes me wonder why I didn't put more money into AR domains sooner, instead of following the crowd.

i totally agree. AR is going to live up to the hype, and then some.

First and only VR/AR additions - VRsonar dot com and ARsonar dot com

Thinking along the lines of underwater VR/AR projects.

I now also own ArAppDeveloper dot com. Really don't understand why that wasn't taken. I think VR will have a much bigger need for domain names than AR because of the way these technologies are used. Apps are great for on the fly notifications about yout surroundings (AR) but with VR domains make more sense as you can browse different realities in a totally different way if you are stationary and immersed in the metaverse.
