Here is a story on Randy https://www.timesjournal.com/community/article_da8c2b0f-11be-56c9-810a-483304c8d3b4.html

Poor guy really dealt with a lot

From the article:

His earlier attempts at a writing career were truncated following a diagnosis of neurofibromatosis type two (NF2) at the age of 16. Pendleton shunned the notion of normalcy, opting instead to adopt defeatism, to accept that he will never live a normal life.

Despite bilateral deafness and paralysis in his face and right hand, he continues on the alchemy of building a career utilizing his writing skills, with the pursuit of recognition in his eye–for himself and for the entire disabled community.

Randy was a very witty guy with a very sarcastic type humor. He has been very ill over the last year. He was in the hospital at this same time last year. His health had tremendously declined . I don't know how much he shared with people . He was actually doing better and they moved him out of ICU. He was stable. I went home to get a nights sleep and found out the next morning he was moved back to the ICU. They never contacted me. He had gone into respiratory failure and they had to put him on a vent . His organs had started shutting down and there was no more the doctors could do. Randy has always asked me to fight for him and I have. I have fought this disease with him, beside him for 18 years. Actually even before that . He recently asked me not to let him suffer. I'm a nurse. A mom first and a nurse second. I fought for him until it was time to let him go and not let him suffer. He was in so much pain.
...
I want to thank you for reaching out to me. I saw people were asking about what happened to him. You may share what I told you. He ended up with a malabsorption issue which caused him to suffer from severe malnutrition. Once there is no fat, the body uses muscle. Once there is no muscle, the body attacks the organs. That led to what is called non alcoholic cirrhosis and kidney damage . His liver and kidneys weren't working properly so his body started filling with fluid which caused the respiratory failure. Not only was he 100% deaf , but he was legally blind. He was almost completely blind when he passed. That's why he wasn't online much. He could speak but he was losing his voice too. Such a shame for such a talented kid beat cancer twice and end up dying like this.

Hope this helps

I just put in $20, wish I could do more.
Who will match my donation?
Lets give this family some peace of mind to lay Randy to rest a little easier.
He deserved it, and was one of those guys that always helped others.

WOW now that was just like yesterday when he and me were posting appraisals and sometimes silly jokes here on Namepros.

I am in :)

Blurb from his website

This is, indeed, the website of author Randy L. Pendleton.
But it doesn't look like it.

This site is being rebuilt. The basics are here; I'll have a design & my blog set up here soon.
Hope this is good enough for now.

Feeling sad reading that sentence where he mentions that he will rebuilt his blog. Makes us all realize that one day everyone has to go leaving back all the unfinished work and all the memories into people's mind whom we have been in touch with.

Too true, Keral. Well said.

Whoever was close enough to speak to his family in person should find out what is going on with his portfolio.
I'm sure they could use some help evaluating it's value and helping do whatever they want to do with them.

I'm sure we can find someone we can all trust to help them out with it.

Peace,
Cy

I hope someone takes an initiative for that.

Karma goes around and makes a 360 degrees angle here on this 3rd rock from the sun.

Not being selfish here, but being into a domainers shoes I would like someone to take off my domains once I take a one way ticket to HΜΆeΜΆlΜΆlΜΆ Heaven. It might make me smile for one more time from above.

Soon thereafter people whom I have met will forget me and some years later they will join me above.

I guess people can leave back something and that would be good thoughts/memories into other people's mind.

I certainly hope the ownership of Namepros is making a donation, Randy was a mod for many years and it's only right in my opinion.

Cy, his aunt is working on that, to see if they can do anything. I am not sure they have the passwords, but I told her it would be a shame to see his investments go to waste.

Mr. D,

Perhaps someone with a DT acct could run a search off of "other names owned by" RandyPendleton.com and find out where they are reg'd and if they cant find the PW's to his accts I'm sure someone out there would have the reach to get into his accts and turn them over to whomever is handling his estate. (his aunt)
Then she could find someone here that would broker them out.
I don't personally have the juice to ask someone like Frank (if his names are reg'd at Uni for example) to transfer them to his aunt, but I know it can be done.

I'm not sure about the legal stuff involved but maybe @jberryhill would know more about this and chime in.

He was a Mod here for many years, and a valuable catalyst to the growth of NP since the beginning and deserves whatever we can do to help out.

See, this is a great example for all of us, and there are a number of threads on this going back years.
Having someone you can trust in the industry to take care if your assets for your family if something unexpected happens to you. I have someone, so should we all.

Peace,
Cy

RandyPendleton.com is at @namesilo as private.
But when I talked to her, it was at another registrar, and I could see some names here

Hi Cy,

I don't have a DT account but I know for sure that the last auction of Randy was on Flippa for:
Peeba.com - it sold for $115, unfortunately Randy passed away during auction time and the transfer never concluded. Here is the buyers comment on Flippa:

Transaction Feedback (Recently 100.0% positive) ashwin44 ( 100% | $256 )
The transaction have never been made and will never be made as sadly the sell Archangel is no more RIP
Domain namesold for $115

Peeba.com should be probably still in Randys account at GoDaddy.com.

I hope this info will help somehow.

Peace,
Darko

Thanks guys.

I'm not sure how to proceed from here.. This is uncharted waters as far as I know.
I think we may need to wait on Mr. Berryhill (if he wouldnt mind) to clue us on how, or even if, we can procede getting those either transferred to an acct set up by her, or getting her Admin access to his acct(s).

Unless someone out there knows.
Maybe @TheLegendaryJP knows a way.

Peace,
Cy

RIP Randy...although I did not know him personally, I am sure he is on the other side with no afflictions and waiting on his loved ones to join him.

I would like someone to take off my domains once I take a one way ticket

I have trained a niece who had some domain buying experience to take over my portfolio once the time has come. My lawyer has an envelope with the code(s) necessary to take control but he has no idea what they are for. Someone (domainer) passed a year or so ago and I see the names drop...so sad his/her family could not have benefited from all the work.
