hi all.

there is a lot of threads around for all kinds of extensions.. and I know most or many just want the good old .com . and put some more life into it for as cheap as possible...

so I am starting this thread so folk can just find out how to put some more life into your .com for cheaper than regular price.. via either transfer or renewal dicounts/promos/blackfriday/coupons etc. of course as we all know, renewal discounts are nearly non existent. so most of the stuff here should be transfer.

so anything.. blackfriday... boxing day.. xmas.. or just plain old coupons or other promos..

the cutoff price is $8. please do not post deals that are more than $8.

north american located registrars only please. canada and usa.

do not post hostgator or 1&1 deals here.

please keep thread on topic.

Lots of people are looking for transfer deals, the coupons haven't been working lately for transfers at the DomFam - Domain/MyDomain/NetFirms/Dotster and there have been no other transfer promos for a couple months.

From my point of view, this company is kind of ok. Quick transfer process, easy to manage domain and nice support team, transfer out with no additional fee/condition.
Some friends of mine got verified call at the 1st time sign-up but not all customers. I think it's fine.

I've got domains over at netfirms. They've set mine to auto renew on August 21.

Can I still transfer within their "family"?

And....do any of them have any transfer special right now.

And...at this point is it too late to transfer?

I was thinking of doing lcn.com but seems time consuming with the whole phone called need hassle.

Advise? Thanks!

When I visit the site. It shows for me a 646 area code. And seems to be new York based even though they show vat . So Europe also?

I have found that I can still unlock domains and get auth codes up until the 30th day after expiration at Netfirms

Are you sure? Their damn notification emails seems so scary like on the date of my domains expire they say it will be DELETED.

And I've read horror stories on NP about them preventing transfers or recovery

Edit. Any chance their recent $6.22 transfer coupon at their sister sites is still valid?

Can it be "revive" if you ask them "nicely" especially if want to transfer "in house" about 100 domains?

I just transferred out 9 domains from Netfirms that were expired. The confimation email from Netfirms allows instant transfer out option.

Sibling transfer with coupons at the DomFam was not really ever supposed to have worked, so we should be happy we could save while it was working.

Avtar, you should contact LCN directly and ask them if they can do slightly better than $6.19 for your bulk 100 transfers - they clearly state that offer bulk deals if you ASK!

Plus if you keep that volume of domains there next year your renewals will be discounted as well - https://www.lcn.com/domain-names/bulk-pricing

yea. I'm not going to renew/transfer most of these. I will list most of them soon on NP before they expire just to recoup the $2 and some profit. and move on. just keep an eye out for my signature. or you guys can follow me. but probably you will see my thread for it soon.

@Apprich - this is a great question - I started a ticket at LCN directly to ask them if there is a limit AND if you can get an even better price than $6.19 and what the minimums are

In the email @Adam27 posted above they state "Whether you want to move a single domain, or hundreds, we’ll complete the transfer for you." which implies to me that there is not a limit
