Augmented Reality (AR) domains

Last night I ignored the urge to register SpaceShipThree.com , and today the .com .net .org and .whatnot is all taken.

Today I decided to redeem myself and find another good dn investment. After a bit of investigation I discovered the huge potential of Augmented Reality: Google Trends: augmented reality . The estimated AR market size in 2014 is $732,000,000 , especially in AR marketing.

I think adverts and billboards shown as augmented reality on mobiles will become simply huge, and so I decided to get a piece of the pie, all new .com registrations:

ar+
advert
adverts
billboard
billboards
registrar

There are still a lot of possibilities available, so I thought I'd share this so you can also get a piece of the action :santa:

@Type-In good advice, to be sure, it's just that imho VR will remain a bit of a niche, whereas AR will be pretty much everywhere come September and the release of iOS11, and that's just the starting point. But yes, it's definitely too early to sell AR domains

My first AR am i on the right track?
ARAVIATOR.com figured this name has two meanings as one the most popular styles in aviation eye wear since WWII and its purpose as an aviation AR eye wear device for pilot safety and navigation. your feedback is appreciated.

Agree. Not a buyers market for long. I've been getting the feeling around offers last 2 months. I just sit back and relax.... no rush. Hopefully my little AR portfolio can make me a dollar or $2. Winter is coming you know...

Looking forward to seeing your new prize if you care to share mate.

Let's see. I wouldn't hold my breath though. Apple doesn't rush to get into anything. If you've read rumors fine, I really hope I'm wrong but I don't get the impression that Apple will announce any immersive hardware other than maybe a GearVR equivalent for their poor VR deprived iPhone users.

It takes a lot to perfect AR glasses technology and Apple isn't going to release anything unless it's absolutely flawless... No goofy wires. It has to be cordless. Has to be small and fashionable. No big chunky looking stuff.

iPhone 8 release announcement expected by some in the next 2 weeks. It should be a more robust marriage with ARKit- will be the game changer en mass. Apple's new A11 chip is off the charts- rumored to be at 3GHZ with HMP (heterogeneous multi-processing). Only reason for that much juice is because it will be needed for a seamless and smooth AR and likely VR experiences.

The time is near. happy hunting

This is a nervous time in technology because a new medium is coming but Facebook, Google, MS and Apple don't want to release something that's going to flop and give credibility to the company that learns from the that mistake and does it right. There are not universal standards so input devices could be anything from your hands, gloves, pointers, speech rec, AI, eye movements, etc. If you fuck up then your competitor releases something better you are forced to follow them...the same way MS had to follow Apple's touchscreen approach after saying the iPhone would be a flop.

I just hope that this anxiety about the new medium of AR doesn't slow it down. Companies have to learn from their mistakes...they need to fuck up to improve...it's just a matter of who going to be the trend setter about which predominant input method the masses will use in the beginning. Like the war between one mouse button vs 2 mouse buttons.

agreed.
one thing I know though is that developers love coding with ARKit
so that's a good start.
exciting times ahead.

Oh sorry in king. I thought about tours and travel but thought tours is better but better suited to VR; whereas AR I didn't think tours or travel suited. Then thought of travel agency and when I checked it was available in king!
I also hand registered AR travelagent in king. Which is better? Sorry compared to travel agency in king

arnws /com
jeuxra /com (french for games + ar)
gafasaumentadas /es (augmented glasses spanish)
lunettesra /fr (ditto for french)
3Dar /eu
ARmagazine /eu
my-ar /de (i know, hyphens, but Germany )
realitastertambah /com (augmented reality in Indonesian - ok, i know - but population 263 million)

I'm actually kinda developing ARmagazin de into an actual (online) magazine - there is no such thing yet, so i might as well be the first, ha! And since it's a topic that completely fascinates me, it comes kinda easy.

cheers and good morning

It has already been discussed here other times, ra or rv will be very little used acronyms, even in the idioms that derive from the Latin.

In French or Spanish we do not say DC but CD, we do not say CP, but PC, etc., etc., etc.

Imho.

jeuxar - fr
lunettesar - fr and com
gafasar - com
