Would you guys be interested in an open portfolio project?

I'm thinking of allocating $500 or maybe $1,000 to an open portfolio project. An open portfolio project is one where all the activities are open to public view and comment. I would post the cost of acquiring and registering names, why I chose them, revenue from holding the names, and the profit or loss from the disposal of the names.

I have a number of restricted views about the internet and other things, and a project like this would help me to broaden my outlook, and to increase my profits. All comments and discussion would be via the NamePros forum, and would be open to all members of course. So you would need to be polite. :)

The portfolio would be listed on my Wise account virtual asset recording, and would include receipts in Bitcoin and associated trading and investment.

37 views and only one negative comment. I guess this needs to be a private project then. :)

I'm not clear - Are you creating an investment group or are you saying that you want to have a public "journey" in building a domain portfolio?

Ps. The link in the original post does not work

Sorry about the link. The link for wise accountant is Wise accountant's domain project . The site is a bit basic because I got discouraged by the negativity.

I don't want any external investment. I was just going to put $500 of my money into a project, and open it for discussion so that I could improve my own skills. I don't want any involvement other than discussion and comment. It will also push me into doing some work instead of just talking about it. :)

$500 of my money into a project

Interesting idea but maybe you could/would achieve similar input and results from a dedicated nps thread (if I understand what you are thinking of doing) without costing you any money. Then you, I and about 8 others could use that money (and ours) for another domain related project...

I'm using my money to make money and expand my investments in virtual assets.
The project needs real world examples of success and failure.
I'd be happy to work with others who want to start similar projects, but I don't want any financial involvement either way. Unless someone wants to buy a domain name of course. :)

no, but thanks

"no, but thanks"

is negative?

seemed polite enough to me

i got an issue with folks unnecessarily labeling people with negative tags, just cuz they don't like the replies.

if negativity discourages you, then it may be best to keep ideas to yourself

or surround yourself with a "yes" group

on the other hand
if you want to do something, then just do it

don't talk about what it is you want to do, until after it's done or in process....
then maybe open it up for discussion, when you have something concrete to point to

imo....

Not sure I have my head completely wrapped around what you are proposing but I think I got the idea.
I would peak at something like that and comment or have input at times I think.
Sounds like there could be things to be learned watching something like that evolve.
I can't think of anything negative really unless maybe your skin wasn't very thick. Then you could take your ball and go home but then you wouldn't be suggesting such a thing if you were thin skinned.

I'm sorry I started this thread. I thought that I would be contributing. Obviously if it is a project for community discussion it involves more initial work, and planning.I realise my mistake, and I have unwatched this thread.

I think its a great idea. Some comments here do not make any logical sense. I think people need to read and understand before they make comments.

I should maybe wait for the other member to respond but I think he took the word "negative" and only meant that as only one person not interested. I can't see how you felt the word "negative" was used in the kind of light you painted it in.
From your post I would say, perhaps you need to read your own post. (in my opinion)

Interesting. Happy to discuss and debate and so on...

The above said, you need to develop a thicker skin, especially if you want to be successful at this project. You will, typically, receive more critical feedback than reinforcing and if you react to critical feedback/negativity etc and take it too personally, you will not succeed in the community discussion and the related goals (you might succeed in the domain investment portion but that's not the only goal, is it?)

I agree with this. Simple reason - I visit and read through NP a lot daily. I get notifications (e-mails for those that I want) AND the alert notifications on the website, quoting and other life easing features. Either you'll have to setup something similar, spending time, money and effort in maintaining and supporting that or not have this very nice to have features for easy follow ups and replies.

PLEASE NOTE _ THIS IS NOT A JOINT VENTURE OR A PARTNERSHIP REQUEST.

At no time was I seeking any investment or direct involvement by any other person.
I have removed the financial reporting, and I will continue with the project for my own interest.
