I don't know what you think but after 10 years of domaining I'm super-sick of hearing the words "Premium" or "SuperPremium" in any damn domain sale.
And I'm guilty too because I often use these terms. And then I realise that they're the most useless words in the world since every domainer says that his domains are SuperPremiums!

Buy now the SuperPremium domains:

- FishingWithFriendsInAHotSummerDay.cars
- LoveIsInTheAirForAllThePeopleThatStillBelivesInLove.Irish
- CarRentalCheapAndReliableInDublin.us
- CricketSoccerBaseballFootballVolleyballPokerHorseRacingPassion.com

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
While we're at it, I'd love to ban the term 'Rare' from domain name promotion, seeing how every domain is unique anyway.

It's fun to read some of the sales and auction listing here

Yes. Not because there aren't premium domains that get listed but the majority of green investors don't know what "premium" means.

Ban it!

Premium domains don't need labels they sell themselves. Turds need labels. Need domains to have a scent to them so ya can just scratch and sniff for the turd smell.

My favorite is when they describe their domains as "hand picked".

Due to all new gTLDs, "premium" also implies that a domain might have a higher renewal fee. This does obviously not include.com, .net, .org.

In my world a REAL premium name is a L.com, LL.com, LLL.com, N.com, NN.com, NNN.com, NNNN.com, LN.com NL.com, a good one-word .com or a perfectly matched two-word .com with massive of Google search volume.

It might also be very short .net, .org or common ccTLD name. Or one-word .net, .org or common ccTLD, with massive of Google search volume.

In the future, I think it might include perfectly matched new gTLDs, such as: Night.club, Buy.pizza and Marijuana.shop.

That's my two cents...

I think I'll start using the word "fresh" for names that I've just registered. :)

They are asking over $4,000 for freshnames.com

@donnied79 In a free market not possible to achieve. Some domains definitely sold for premium amounts but are "pigeonshit" domains for the majority of domainers.
For example I would never pay for a painting several $ millions ( if I would have the funds), but I'm probably stupid or don't understand.
The artist who paints would never pay $xx,xxx for a domain, but he is probably stupid or don't understand either. :xf.grin:

If a painting is worth millions, then the artist is dead. :)

Good that a domainer hasn't to be dead to get millions!:xf.grin:

I don't know, when I want to buy a name I like to see it as it is. No "super premium", no "category killer" and "evergreen niche". I want the seller sell me (and myself as seller) his pure name. If the name is really good, all other advertisement additions are not needed.

How many "Hot" women or men do ya see walking down the street with t-shirts on that say "Hot"

How many fast cars need to put a "Sport" label on da back of the car. Usually it's slow cars that need to call themselves Sport.

So I guess we don't need labels for the obvious only need labels to try and confuse people into thinking that that 4 cylinder turns into a V-8 once ya toss a "Sport" label made of plastic on da back of it.

LOL. We all tend to fall in love with our own names. I think this might be the second most counterproductive factor in domaining. The first one should be hand-regging shitty names. ;)

Agree the word "premium" is thrown out there way too often. I own some good domains. I do use the terminology "premium" to separate out my best domains that I feel are really category killers from the middle of the road domains.

For the most part I agree with Fancy Domains definition of premium. I had a few dozen premium new GTLDs that I recently dropped. The current renewal price of those new Gs combined with the instability of future renewal pricing of New Gs in general make it hard for me to consider any Gs premium at this point.

All you guys selling tired old premium names with lots of age should switch to fresh young names. I'm starting a trend to promote fresh hand reg'd names for high prices. :)

my new slogan - " Fresh names without premium prices". :)

As long as the buyers agree, why not! ;)
