Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

How Social VR From FOX Sports, LiveLike Is A Game-Changer

LiveLike CEO Andre Lorenceau recently argued that the latest technology advancement from the company is a feature that live virtual reality around sports needs as an overall broadcasting medium.

LiveLike and FOX Sports are currently streaming a series of three CONCACAF Gold Cup matches live in VR including the championship match on July 26. Now, there’s the added element of “social,” with users of the FOX Sports VR app being able to communicate with friends via Facebook. The second match offered in social virtual reality is tonight’s semifinal between the United States and Costa Rica at 10 p.m. ET on FS1.

Lorenceau told SportTechie last month that with the new integration, he expects usage time of the LiveLike platform to increase as well. While fans can have the full immersive experience through a Samsung Gear VR or cardboard headset, viewers can watch the game and engage in the social element via a 360-degree smartphone experience, too.

“There’s no one else who has offered (social virtual reality in sports). It makes all of the other stuff we’ve built in there — the suite system, the highlights, replays, etcetera — be twice as useful because they become ammunition for a conversation,” Lorenceau said.

Been searching around for some keywords i have in .com.

And managed to find a recent interview with the guy who owns VRP*rn dot com.

https://skarredghost.com/2017/05/23/virtual-reality-adult-world-eyes-vr-porn-founder/

Thought it was a good read, don't think it's been posted on here before.

Interesting that he says he got the domain 'for very little money' back in 2013. I think I e-mailed the owners around then asking for a price and they didn't reply. Probably just missed a real steal. :xf.frown:

Will be though IMO, most likely only [virtualreality + 1 premium keyword].com domains can sell for a lot, e.g. virtualrealitygames.

I'm not crazy about the long tail "virtual reality" for the future. At this point it has to be explained to some that VR is virtual reality, but that will change with time. My example I've stated, early on television was used to describe TV set. Now most all just say TV. Just my thoughts on it and with domains, the shorter the better. That said, super prime words will be good with the long tail.

It's happening. As VR apps transition to VR websites being played with WebVR, our VR domains become more valuable with time. So this, along with VR becoming much better will provide a 1-2 punch to higher value. The below article is about a company with a Web VR Player.

"Visbit Launches Web-Based VR Player & Unity SDK

Visbit has today released a Unity SDK and a Web VR Player, expanding the all-in-one virtual reality (VR) streaming service across all mobile VR platforms and most web browsers. The Unity SDK, also available from today, brings support for Google Daydream View and Cardboard for iOS.

“Unity support has been a long-time request from our customers. We are proud to bring 4K+ VR video streaming to the Unity community,” said Dr. Changyin Zhou, Visbit co-founder and CEO. “We’re also adding the Web VR Player, which dramatically reduces the difficulties of distribution and improves access for general consumers of VR and 360-degree experiences. Now content creators can generate a web link on the Publisher Portal to share their work, or embed video links on their website, while still protecting their content with domain-level privacy.”

This release marks a significant service expansion for the company. In addition to the Samsung Gear VR and Cardboard for Android, which Visbit already supports, the Unity SDK adds support for Google Daydream View and Cardboard for iOS. Though streaming is optimised overall, the Unity SDK stands out when used to develop Android apps for Google Cardboard because it pulls on patented VVOS technology, allowing 4K and above resolution streaming over regular WiFi and LTE networks, with little to no latency.

Visbit’s newly released Web VR Player is compatible with a wide range of mobile and desktop browsers. Though it does not use VVOS technology, it still allows for the smooth playback of 360-degree VR videos, even in 4K and stereoscopic, and can do so in panning, gyro and VR modes on Chrome, Safari, FireFox and Microsoft Edge. Videos are also protected with domain-level privacy to ensure that they are played only where the IP owner wants.

Along with this product expansion comes a new pricing structure, which includes a Web Only Plan for those who may not need the advanced features designed for mobile apps and a Free Plan for those who are just getting started. Visbit is currently in open beta and customers can sign up at www.visbit.co. VRFocus will keep you updated with future expansions of the VR streaming service from Visbit, including desktop and console VR headsets.

HTC Vive US GM: We ‘Met Our Targets’ And Are ‘Very Happy’ With Sales. https://uploadvr.com/htc-vive-gm-happy-sales-met-targets/

This is an interesting graph showing the adoption rates in the US of four commercial technologies. When you consider that the consumer version of the Oculus Rift only went on sale little more than a year ago, we can still have reason for optimism that the market penetration of VR is really going to explode in 2 or 3 years time.

Six Figures for Virtual Reality Art? It seems like it. Artists are tapping into a new medium, the Virtual Reality to show case their talent. It's amazing what VR can do. Holders of VRArt.com and VirtualRealityArt.com are looking at a large payday, hopefully.

I’ve said that on here a few times, always regarded VR+Art as one of the top keywords.

End of the day in an industry where a photograph of a spud can sell for 7 figures:-

https://news.artnet.com/market/kevin-abosch-potato-photo-414257

And someone can sell their vomit (literally) all over a piece of paper for the same amount. How much can you potentially ask for, for VR+Art dot com, an industry set to revolutionise art (from the things I’ve read) if you’re in control of that domain in .com?

It’s the domain I’ve spent most time on trying to acquire anyway during my time domaining, so gutted not own it but I’ve gone a different direction now so can’t be too disappointed.

I hope the member on here who sold it to the current enduser got a good price. $25K minimum.

He hasn't been back on NamePros in 10 months, perhaps he's retired on some island somewhere.

I would be very interested to know what he sold it for.

If I had it, it would have been kept for 3-5 years easy before the thought of selling even crossed my mind.

So I have been meaning to grab a few VR/art names. I'm actully into art , liked it college and enjoy studying the history of it. I like history in general. So after reading your comments and the link, I realized I needed to act now to secure a good one while they are left . So I just picked up 3.

The first one that came to mind was "MATTE" most people only know or have heard of "CANVAS" unless you took a art class or just know your sh*t. That being said, I knew canvas would be taken, it is ...the cool part at $100 and 79days to go on Godaddy it all ready has one offer. cool So here's what I just picked up.

VRmatte . (com) :xf.cool:
matte1
mat/
adjective

    • 1.
a matte color, paint, or finish.
"the varnishes are available in gloss, satin, and matte"

For those whom may not know a "easel" is to an Artist what a tripod is to photographer. (y)

Vreasel is decent for a hand reg. Could act as a brandable for an Art based venture. But go easy on the hand regs. Most of the decent domains are already handregged. If you look in the aftermarket, especially here on NP, you can get some decent domains at very good prices. Good Luck!:xf.smile:
