Google has moved the domain name at the top of search results. I think the change was made in the past 2-3 weeks. If the webpage in the results is not the homepage of the website then the breadcrumbs are also displayed. The website title is now below the domain name.

Interesting! The change is either an experiment or is being rolled out in phases. I'm still see the old search result format and not this new one

By the look of the "screenshot" image I can guess you took that from a mobile device, probably a smartphone? What browser are you using? My desktop browsers Chrome and Firefox still display results "old style".

interesting for me

its using the

www.domain
versus
domain

It will use the www if that's how they indexed the page. GD's non-www redirects to the www, as does register's and namecheap's.

I'm not seeing this on desktop or mobile - looks like an experiment.

What is going to be interesting is what happens to the value of short 2-3-4 letter domains that do not make a word when voice search dominates. Experts predict 50% will use voice search by 2020. It is fast and easy for people on the go with their phones. I see only branding value for short names that mean nothing. 4 LLLL will go from basic 2K value to 200. Voice search prefers long tail natural phrases. You will have to have a lot of content for keywords on site for voice search to rank you. Also it displays local info first. It really will change the domain game. Yes emoji will only be good for easy type in search. Technology changes quickly. One must adapt or be left in the dust.
This young lady wrote an interesting article about it. May give you new insight for buying and registering names.

Although this deals with site content, how do you expect a voice search to pick up on a domain x c w #4

I obviously was thinking about this when I registered
Recherche vocale (dot) com in 2010 (French for voice search)

i like your voice search post, but people with "strange" accents will never be able to fully use voice search. I grew up Amish, and my accent almost always gets GPS to find a business 2000 miles away...

I also agree it will not work perfect for everyone and type in traffic will still have merit. I see a big shift coming though I think. That is why I am going to utilize some sub domains and make a longer phrase for some of my websites. For example one I did today is super.yachtbuoys.com Threw an Amazon link on and directed it to a page on yachtbuoys.com 301 direct but I leave the URL unmasked. I have been lead to believe spiders can crawl the name easier. Just another IT experiment. I do this alot. lol

Yeah, seems it lasted only a short while, back to the old formatting for me at the moment.
