Doesn't he own Microsoft and Google? :)

With his years in the industry and this “pattern” of borderline regs, he has probably had hundreds if not thousands of UDRPs with various brands across board.

But why does he have to even register these. He has such wonderful pool of thousands of generic and brandable domains!

He knows something we don't?

It drives traffic to his marketplace. Period.

What is cybersquatting?: According to the United States federal law known as the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, is registering, trafficking in, or using an Internet domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else. The cybersquatter then offers to sell the domain to the person or company who owns a trademark contained within the name at an inflated price.

Interesting, will Mike accept paypal payment from Paypal for PayPalLA dot com and will paypal allow his account to remain active after such a transaction?

Ironically, he also owns names like:

USTrademarkRights.com
TrademarkLegalServices.com
EuropeanTrademarks.com
TrademarkCheck.com

An end-user might buy TrademarkLegalServices.com from Mike Mann, start a trademark protection service, and then get hired to file UDRPs against him by some of the brands he cybersquats.

I've never understood that, it's something that always gets brought up. Why register obvious trademarks. Maybe it's just risk/reward and he's sold those type of domains in the past.

It's automated, like HugeDomains.

Probably.

I just hope no new domainers would see this list and think it's okay to register trademark domains. nothing really justifies registering such domains. It's like he is looking for trouble!

Search for realtor on his site. There are dozens of domains with the Trademark term "realtor". And everybody knows these realtor guys are very aggressive. How can he possibly sell these domains? It's automated.

I do remember those trademark domains were brought up on some domain blog and he posted something about software/automated. I was wondering then why not just put those names in some filter or delete them. I go back to risk/reward.

I was trying to find it, found something else:

"I said they can have them free, what else can one do"

I was not able to find a single big global brand TM domain among their inventory. This is so easy to avoid! Just create a blacklist filter and add all the big brands like google and microsoft to it.

However, Mike Mann actively cybersquats, so he will not do that: In 2013 he LOST an UDRP against Facebook, and he was ordered to transfer the domains he was cybersquatting to facebook:
aboutfacebook.com
facebookbabes.com
facebookcheats.com
facebookclub.com
facebookdevelopment.com
facebookfest.com
facebookintegration.com
facebookjournal.com
facebookking.com
facebookland.com
facebooksafety.com
facebookstudio.com
facebookstuff.com
freefacebookapps.com
friendsonfacebook.com
fundraisingwithfacebook.com
joinusonfacebook.com
killfacebook.com
moneyfromfacebook.com
moneywithfacebook.com
newfacebookapplication.com

What did Mike Mann do? Did he stop doing this, or at least stop cybersquatting the facebook mark?

No he did not, he went out and bought more Facebook domains!:

He owns 216 REALTOR® domains.

I only included 4 of them in the list above, as my goal was to show a broad variety of different trademarks he is infringing on.

I wonder why the NAR has not filed an UDRP against him for owning so many names incorporating their TM.

I think he just likes the wild wild west aspect of domaining a bit too much and simply likes to fight.

HugeDomains buys a lot of crap.. wastes hundreds of dollars on crappy domains every single day. They've probably blacklisted trademark terms unlike Mike Mann's machine. Machines can't replace people in this business, not yet.

Yeah but it's unlikely that a machine prices those domains and adds them to his marketplace.

Yeah, he owns GoogleMicrosoft.com since 2010. Could've given the domain for free to either company. Could've let it expire. Risk/reward maybe...
