Who has a guess on what the next ccTLD boom will be?

Not talking ones that are currently experiencing great interest (here's looking at you .in, .io, etc.), but the outliers that still have premium names for sale.

I'm curious to here the opinions of my fellow domainers.

We beleive the ccTLDs of Mexico, ".mx" and ".com.mx" will be a part of the next ccTLD boom.

Mexico has been experiencing continued Broadband Internet Access Growth, Smartphone Penetration and eCommerce growth among Mexican Consumers.

Huge Online Retailers like Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco and Amazon have expanded into Mexico and keep growing their operations and offerings.

I completely agree. Given recent data it seems like only a matter of time before the premium Mexico extensions go big.

It would be nice it if were to happen. But they really need to reduce registration fees. Around $45 is far too much - at least if they want to attract more resellers.

Agreed. It seems like current registration fees are $40 for ".mx" and $11 for ".com.mx" at http://akky.mx
About once a year, they also usually offer a renewal discount period for each extension.

100% agree. As the big players have started to expand into the growing online market in Mexico I am seeing traffic and offers grow on my premium .mx domains

Until quite recently the companies and retailers doing business in Mexico have been reluctant to spend money for quality domains . Eventually they will be forced to pay up or risk losing the valuable properties and traffic to the competition.

.mx had its time and wasted it. Now it's gone.
Almost any country is experiencing broadband growth like never before because of prices getting lower and technology getting better.

If not .mx what is your guess on what the next big cctld will be?

I've been seeing offer views and uniques growing on premium .mx and .com.mx domains as well. There was an interesting interview on Forbes.com that discussed ecommerce in Mexico and the potential for great growth in the coming years. I think you're right, businesses will eventually have to pay up as Mexico joins the more advanced internet-usage countries.

.com.mx domains are much more reasonable in price, and most likely the extension of choice for aspiring online retailers (given that Google and the big dogs are all .com.mx). That said, I would like to see .mx go down in price.

Yes, since ".com.mx" preceeded ".mx" by 11 years, many Consumers and Businesses are accustomed to seeing it and using it. The ".mx" extension, which came out in 2009, is gaining traction and will eventually catch up to ".com.mx" in the future.

Also curious about language...will Spanish or English words dominate? I find it hard to decide.

Both Spanish and English words should be good, but as with any other country's ccTLD the native language will most likely dominate.

English is still the most used and popular "international language" worldwide and, hence, does good in most other ccTLDs ... Mexico and Mexican National Consumers, being our "neighbors" to the south, are especially aware of popular "English" keywords, brands and sayings.
