Well, fudge,, how the hell do they do that when i struggle to sell similar names for $xxx :banghead:
I guess I should just slap the $10,000 pricetag on everything and see how it goes.

So far all of my .co sales (and offers) were below $1000

I hear ya. I have been looking very closely at the venues, etc. that are making good sales. I don't mind waiting for $xx,xxx prices. :)

I have sold a few .co one word in the last year and they were all under 1k, so probably we don't reach the right customers. I have sold a one word .co that is a watch brand made in NY now and they still didn't wanted to pay more. I'm testing a no reserve auction at flippa for simba.co, for who's interested: https://flippa.com/8766103-simba-co

I'm a huge .co fan but it's like marmite in the business world, either loved or hated.
This makes it tricky to extract any serious ROI - especially if, like me, you've paid mid $XXX or low $XXXX for particular keywords... or bought for higher during landrush!

I've only sold a handful but what I've noticed is...
- When pitched as the second best alternative to .com, end-users are either appalled or enthralled that an extension exists that is so similar to .com and yet one character shorter. Be prepared for the usual questions such as 'don't you mean .com?'
- I've also tried to position it as an alternative (upgrade) to .co.XX such as .co.uk or .co.za - this seems like a good middle ground.
- Lastly, I've sold .co as a defensive registration for existing .com and .co.uk owners. This is my least favourite strategy and it yields the lowest price.

I think the sweetspot is pre-SeriesB startup (seed or SeriesA), one word, less than 10char - where the .com is either unavailable or priced for the sky. I still believe that .co is an excellent alternative to .com but it's a slow burner that takes patience and planned cash-flow for renewals. The GritBrokerage sales keep me motivated - holding out for $XXXX or higher is possible but not for the faint-hearted.

FYI .. about 60 of the 125 domains in my current portfolio auction are single word or single term .co's .. well more than half of those are 7 years old registered on the first day .co existed! :)

https://flippa.com/8918937-portfolio-of-128-domains

Even after that auction I'll still have about 200 similar .co's .. I just really wish I had some time to do even a little bit of outbound .. have some great ones! :)

not much.. so no one really selling now on auctions.. resellers not pay much... so everyone just waiting round for endusers in years to come.. endusers always want nice short 3l.co domains.. happened in past.. will continue to in future imo

good try but let's all remember things with neg implications are tougher sales and for less money.. whether its ebola or killer

a lot of nice .co are dropping if your quick enough, but for some of them they also drop for a reason.
