Hell guys
A strange request from a potential buyer for one of my domain names.
He want me to travel to his country to complete the deal face to face.
I have asked him to use Escrow services but he replied that he is not comfortable with it.
What is your feedback guys?
Thanks for all.

LMAO!!!

Though I can't agree with you, I DO respect your life -- or death -- choices! Hopefully you will die with a big smile on your face and warm fuzzy feeling in your brain blocking out all the pain of your missing organs.

Ask escrow.com owner to contact with him by phone or skype, may be after negotiaton with resident of the U.S.A. will agree to pay via escrow service.

Meet him on skype, if he realy want to pay 50k he will look for other options to get the domain. When you go there he will rob/steel your domain:hurting:

Wow...read the whole thread and figured with 8 pages there would be a resolution.

I am so unfulfilled...it's like reading a book and the last page was torn out...where is the op? What is his/her country? Did a security detail get formed? A border detention? Did they get lost in S Central (I did once)? Did the castaways get off the island? What does Ginger look like now? So many questions need to be answered!

Seriously...make them add 7 grand to the price to cover your travel expenses (prepaid to an escrow account so you will be sure to get it once you have made the trip) and prearrange with one of the many very professional security services in LA for 2 bodyguards (1500 to 2000 bucks) for half a day to escort you to and from the transaction AT THE BANK so you can make sure the funds are legitimate before pushing the transfer button.

Whatever country you are from is probably less safe than the USA, so let the guy buy you a vacation and meet in a public place. Nobody in the USA is going to come to NamePros to make a fake deal with someone from another country just to get them to come to the USA so they can steal their organs. We already have lots of people here, many of them not even Americans, and every single one of them has organs. I really don't see what the big deal is here. There really is no alternative for you. Go meet the guy and sell the domain or don't.

Unless this is like a 7 figure sale, you are more than safe using a trusted Escrow service for this transaction. I personally would not go to another country, although I would be more open to traveling to another state within my country of the United States if the sale was sizable enough to justify it.

OP has a perchance for holding people in suspense-- create a thread, leave everyone gasping and then disappear into the thin air.... while he comes back to create another. He has created 2 different threads after this one.

Just imagine, it could be a fallacy, in order just to make the community busy and interesting.

Cheers.

dont drop the soap! hahahahaa!

to be honest with you sometime I also get weird reply from outbound! but lucky me, buyer never ask me to go to his country! but lets be honest, do you think its worth to go to USA, just to close the deal ? how many people in here selling domain for lets say 5 figure or even 6 figure need to go to buyer country ?

buyer domain often times are also domainer, or most of them already buy many domain previously! so basically your buyer already know how to buy domain, without have to go his house! so if your buyer ask u to his country! well :xf.rolleyes: Don't drop the soap! again, Huahahhaaa!

People here, including the OP, are unable to understand why someone refuses escrow. This is the problem here. There is a streotyped prejudice about the good points of traditional payment methods via escrow.

Payment via banks is the only way and isn't harmful to anyone. Are you sure?

If privacy is very important for you, you avoid making payments that can be traced back to you. This doesn't always make you a scammer or illegal person. You may have valid reasons as I said in my previous post on this thread. If you are very rich, if you are very popular person, you may need privacy in your financial transactions. People may need privacy for countless of reasons. Bitcoin and crypto currencies are very private and can be offered to this buyer. I previously made a post about bitcoin. Now, I explained the reasons.

If it's worth, yes. It would be pleasure for me. I like traveling, meeting new people and exploring new places. I would happily travel to the other side of the World for $50k profit, even for $20k profit..

Also I don't find this request weird. Buyer may want to make payment in cash, face to face. What's wrong with this? Don't we use cash to buy or selling something? What's the difference when it comes to domains?

You can buy a car for $50k and pay in cash. You can buy a domain for $50k and pay in cash. There is no difference.

The difference only being you are defenseless in a foreign country with no friends, and are at the mercy to the strangers who lured you there. For what reason?
