Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

every time you see crap names like this.. you can't help but wonder just how many different names and options those people/companeis are trying to reg.. only to find out pretty much everything they want is taken. and going for 3-4-5 figure sale prices :)

make no mistake abotu it folks.. those crappier names some companies go for are definitely not their first chocies :) some just decide to go with the cheaper options.. and reg crap.. rather thna contact us... ;)

oh well that's all their choices of coruse.. not every new product/company/whatveer in VR will be an enduser to our domains ... but it can give you hint that even some crappier keyword VR names anyone here may own have sale potential... as some companies clearly do not mind crap..

just do not overdo it.. with your "crappier" keyword vr domains imo ;)

cheers

Treat your Fear of Flying with Virtual Reality

A new form of cognitive-behavior therapy offered by the Department of Psychology in the University of Haifa in Israel uses virtual reality to confront one of the more common phobias.
In the lab of Professor Marilyn Safir and Professor Helene Wallach from the department of Psychology in the University of Haifa a new and innovative treatment for fear of flying using virtual worlds is currently being tested. The main element in the treatment of phobias has always been exposing the patient to the source of the fear. However in the case of flight that has proved difficult since many patients suffering from fear of flying refuse to board airplanes (sometime even when on the ground).

Fear of flying is defined as a specific phobia which is exhibited whenever a person contemplates the possibility of flaying in an aircraft. This phobia can have dramatic consequences in modern society including giving up business opportunities and vacations involving flights. Even preparing for a vacation or a business trip can result in a panic attack.

Studies have shown that cognitive behavior therapy is the most effective treatment for fear of flying. Using virtual reality technology, the patient which is seated in the lab, uses a real airplane seat is wearing virtual reality glasses and undergoes the full experience of flight. Going from boarding to seating to taking off (vibrations), actual flight and finally safe landing.

Virtual reality can also allow the patient and the therapist to build more complex situations in a safe (virtual) environment. The therapist will not move to the next level before the anxiety level of the patient has been reduced. Another advantage of a virtual environment is the ability to repeat situations time and time again with no risk (and no cost).

Marilyn Safir and Helene Wallach have been working on treating other phobias as well using virtual reality (VR) including Public Speaking (going way back to 2005) which is the most common social phobia, afflicting 40% of all those who suffer from social phobia.

You can find out more about the new treatment on the University of Haifa Department of Psychology dedicated cognitive-behavior therapy dedicated page.

in 2011 TFOT covered The Massachusetts based Company Affectiva which developed the Q-Sensor – a special watch-like sensor that measures emotional arousal via skin conductance that grows higher whenever a person is feeling anxiety.

HTC Teases More AAA VR Content on the Way

One of the biggest VR stories at E3 2017 was that Bethesda’s Fallout 4 (2015), Doom (2016), and Skyrim (2011) are all coming to VR this year.

VR gamers have been hungry for AAA content and it while Bethesda’s announcement is a great step in that direction, HTC says you can expect more on the way.

Speaking with HTC’s GM of VR, Daniel O’Brien, at E3 2017 last week, the topic of AAA content in VR came up thanks to the announcements by Bethesda at the show. HTC was naturally quite thrilled to have Fallout 4 VR and Doom VFRannounced with compatibility confirmed for the Vive, while the Rift has so far been left out of the party. But this isn’t the only blockbuster gaming content that we’ll be hearing about in 2017, according to HTC.

“From what we know, this isn’t the last of the AAA announcements this year,” O’Brien said.

What that content might be is anyone’s guess at this point, but one big-budget VR experience we were expecting to see at E3 2017, Battlefront 2, was completely absent from the show; last year Battlefront (2015) got a PSVR-exclusive ‘X-wing VR Mission’ as DLC. Evidence suggests Battlefront 2 will include VR content as well, and this time around we hope it will be both more expansive and available on more headsets than the PSVR alone.
