LOL!
YMYL has been in the guidelines for a while now. It refers to pages / sites that can have an impact on the visitor's health or finances. Health and disease related sites, products and advice, financial advice, major purchases ..

There used to be a ton of spam sites in all of these areas - still are some, but a big emphasis now on known authority sites. If you're not already "in" and you want to rank in that mix, you need to up your game - regardless of which "hat color" you employ.

I did this for a number for years.. Hired by Lionbridge.. Its mind numbing work, but the manual is an interesting read for domainers. I actually thought it was non public. But seems not.

It used to be. It was leaked so many times they probably gave up. People were always leaking and posting it. Back then it was harder to find the URL ;) and you downloaded a copy in case it disappeared.

There are a couple of agency's that hire for this, aren't there? Lionbridge was one, I remember hearing other names...

Yeah a few different places. But Lionbridge had decent pay. At least compared to the conditions. You could work as little or much as you wanted per session. You had to pay your own taxes, not calling it optional but pretty sure it was not reported anywhere. The pay depended on your home country funny enough, I got 21-23 USD per hour. Being based in Denmark, I think we got the highest rate.

It was good while studying, but wouldent go back.. Evaaar!

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's way less than that in the US. Like the online version of flipping burgers :).

Yup. Burger flippers at McD get 20$ per hour here as well. But we do pay a bit more in taxes.

I think the reasoning is that they want people from all over the world doing the evaluations. You can only do that if you match local salaries. But we only did the projects in English as far as I recall.

If it makes you feel better I doubt that the US raters receive the lowest pay grade.

I've seen the job postings once or twice - as I recall it was above minimum wage - around $10-$15, I think. They probably get a lot more applicants from the US too.
