I`m wondering how many domains do you own in total?
How many domains do you buy and sell per year?

We have reduced our number down from 200 to approximately 100 domains. Changed our focus moving forward, and now purchase more selectively.

This year many will be dropping or selling many of their domain names as prices have reduced

Around 50, down from 200. Looking to decrease further and move away from domaining and concentrate solely on development.

I own roughly 150, with about 100 of them being developed.

I own 68, try to decrease 25-30 by increasing quality.

All in Cannabis

.com only
Canna

420
Cannabis
Weed
Marijuana
Cbd
Mmj

Some regionals, but more seo..based urls.
Heavy in agriculture, mmj, street level stores, pet care and vape, shatter.

I'm a wait and hold awaiting California, Massachusetts, Maine permits .

Every purchase had a end user in sight, from a grower to a retail store in Santa Monica .To a coffee product, or shop. From juice bars, to sodas and beer. All I did was think for a few years on what the " anticipated " needs would be. Keep in mind the industry is at a few billion . Going to 27billion. Just LA County is equal to all of Colorado in anticipated cannabis sales.

I personally do this on the side, my main focus is on environmental control equipment for the leafy greens and cannabis expansion.

I'm now down to 13 in my public portfolio (dropping 3 more next month) and an undisclosed amount in my private portfolio. (95% of both portfolios are developed). I may be trimming more fat within the next 6 months to focus on the developments showing more profitability during testing.

900 or so. Looking to get rid off of about 200-300 but to increase the numbers nevertheless closer to 1000. 99% .COMs.

I own just over 350 in total and am still increasing but am setting a limit of 500. Once I get to 500 I am at my self imposed limit and for me to buy one more I will have to drop one. I adhere strictly to my targets so that I don't overspend.

There have been countless of threads asking the exact same question, so you can definitely take a look over it. (Also the reason why you are not getting comments)

In my opinion it does not matter how much domains you possess, it's about how good they are. So I buy a domain only if I think it's great enough and will sell. Past year I bought about 35 domains, and sold about 10.

I'd rather have 20 good domains than a thousand of crappy ones any day.

That being said, you can tell what's my portfolio size ;)

What did the sales look like for those 10 domains you sold within the year, if you don't mind me asking?

200 < N < 250 only
80% .coms
no plans to move out of that range, in either direction

feeling comfortable paying less than $2,5K in yearly renewals so i'm not forced to sell if i'm not happy with the price.
primary target is to be in the black. and i am.
used to own ~400 a couple of yrs ago, was not happy with ROI
i want my sales less commissions to be at least 3x my expenses (renewals + purchases) for a calendar year, don't really care about other metrics (like portfolio turnover, com percentage etc)... will be 5x this year even if i don't sell anything else till the end of the year.

no matter how many names you have or even how good (liquid names, one word, etc) they are - if you are losing money for 12-18 consecutive months - i would be seriously looking into my strategy (portfolio size vs quality vs pricing)...
if you own 2,000 names paying $16,000 in renewals and make 10 x 10,000% ROI $1K sales a year - surprisingly enough, you are still losing money.

..just imho. your mileage may vary :)
