I notice a bunch of companies offering Pay per Call programs, I saw one from Astoria Company for loans and many more from other companies. You get paid when someone calls your special number 1800 number.

Anyone willing to share their experience with Pay per Call?

Pay Per Call is for monetizing developed websites, not domains.

Just got myself approved with a Pay per Call network, hopefully it works so I can brag about it a few weeks from now.

Tons of money in this area. If you domains that get natural type in traffic get them mobile compliant and start placing the numbers they give you on them.

If you really want to branch use ringpartner. It is a very untapped market for domainers in fact no one does it and domainers are losing money. They sit around and get 10 cents a click. Some calls get 15 per call like insurance, health, dental. Addiction recovery can range up to 100-200 per call based upon duration. The list is endless but ringpartner is excellent I use them. Good luck hope this helps out a bit.

I was just accepted to pay per call too. It seems they are interested for natural type in traffic. Just applied for medical insurance campaign and mortgage refinance for a start. It seems its possible to fwd. the traffic to referral URL common landing page. They have quite high standards for traffic. The average EPC for home security is whooping 2000+ USD. :)

The biggest thing about pay per call is having mobile compliant site.

Make sure it looks good on your phone because that is where the majority of people are going to be pushing that button.

Depending on company they can give you a mock page but really you need to get instapage or unbounce if you want to do it half way right.

Or a full wordpress site on its own if you already have good traffic. With health insurance you will get normally $12-15 per phone call depending on duration normal time is 2 minutes. Also another tip make sure you check the phone call yourself and see if it is working correctly. Make sure that they are actually picking up the phone because if they don't pick up the phone you don't get paid.

None of this is easy but you can make it work.
You have about 10 well known pay per call affiliates. And probably 50 others. Hope this helps everyone out.

In some cases although you need a landing page users wont see it as some people are using adwords paypercall only ads to drive targeted traffic to the phone number. Since the ads are very limited in space the url is an important aspect. Others use display ads, etc. Most programs only allow online marketing, although their are exceptions.
Ringpartner for example has many programs from find a lawyer to home services such as carpets and flooring from known brands such as empire which pay $20+ plus a qualified call.

In the paypercall market industries that rely on calls such as plumbers, locksmiths, etc. Are the best fit since the customer will not need more info before placing the call.

Each program has hurdles such as the user having to press #1, or #2, etc. As well as be on the phone for a certain time before the call is considered qualified.

P.s. Paypercall is mostly for mobile users since they are able to make the call directly off their phone.

P.s. 2 if you have existing traffic related to an offering you should place a ppc number on your site and try it. You have nothing to lose but a little bit of your time.

reviving an old thread but,

do you guys have any updates on how pay-per-call works compared to other forms of monetisation or how did it work for you since the last post in this thread?

thanks

I ended my trial for plumbing with one conversion, I was not patient enough compared to another member in this forum. He setup a mini site with a dedicated chat support that would convince someone to call a number and ultimately make a booking.

A few more questions, if I may ask, to make what you said a bit more clear:

-How long was the trial and how many visitors were needed to get that one conversion during that time?

-Did you use a lander with just a phone number on it (so people can click and call via their mobile phone) or something else?

thanks

My trial was for 3 months, it was a geo domain that belong to a friend. He only gave me 3 months since it was making money with normal parking. The domain had 5 to 10 visits a day and almost 0 visits during the weekends. I was on my 3rd month before I made a conversion mainly due to some mistakes I made with my lander. In the span of 3 months overall I was able to get 23 calls and 1 conversion.

-Did you use a lander with just a phone number on it (so people can click and call via their mobile phone) or something else?
Payper call works best with mobile visitors so your lander needs to me simple and your 1800 number needs to be clickable so your viewer can just click to dial. You can do it with with simple html code. Another mistake since I never did this.

In the end I think my campaign failed due to the small amount of mobile visitors I had with the domain and my use of a desktop lander in the 1st and 2nd month. I might give it another try with another niche I am hoping you guys might do the same and share some of your results.

Pay per call is revenue leakage and traffic wastage. You will convert better with a short form and a submit button.
