information 5 Famous Faces Who Own Great Domain Names

Spaceship Spaceship
At NamePros, we have published several articles profiling famous people who don’t own their exact match domain name. This time, we’re taking a look at five famous faces or bands that do know the power of a great .COM domain name. Our list below includes three music acts, one sporting legend and a movie star that have all either acquired or registered short, memorable .COM domain names to improve their online presence.

Arnold.com

Who can spell schwarzenegger.com correctly on their first attempt? I certainly couldn’t, and I imagine that it’s a fairly commonly misspelt domain name. Fortunately for the former Governor of California and current Apprentice TV star, Arnold.com is currently forwarding to scharzenegger.com, giving Arnold’s fans a simpler way to navigate to his site.

Previously, the domain name was used to promote Schwarzenegger’s own brand of sports supplements, but as of writing, the domain forwards to his official website.

311.com

Chinese domain investors have been acquiring three-number .COM’s at a fast rate, with Giuseppe Graziano estimating that as of the third quarter of 2016, China owned fifty percent of three-number .COM domains. American rock band 311 have been using the domain 311.com for many years, and according to the band, they have no intentions of selling the name anytime soon.

Owning such a high profile domain name has brought the band attractive offers, but with a new album and a summer tour coming up, this six figure domain name will be playing a vital part in the band’s promotion.

Adele.com

British singer Adele has become a worldwide success, having sold over twenty-three million albums in the United States alone. However, did you know that for many years, Adele didn’t own Adele.com?

The domain name adele.tv was the preferred name for Adele’s website until 2014, when it looks like Adele.com was acquired from DigiMedia.com, a company that owns an incredible portfolio of domains that includes clinic.com, recipes.com and cook.com.

Ali.com

The management team of the late, great Muhammad Ali have been using the domain ali.com since the 90’s, after acquiring it from ALI Technologies of Needham, MA. Although the domain currently forwards to MuhammadAli.com, Ali.com is referenced on all of Ali’s official social media accounts.

Kylie.com

Kylie Minogue is an Australian singer who has sold over eighty million albums worldwide. I was in two minds about putting her on this list, and you’ll see why in a minute. Kylie Minogue’s record label have been using Kylie.com in some way, shape or form since at least the year 2000, according to archive.org. The domain currently displays a feed of Kylie Minogue’s tweets.

Whilst Kylie Minogue’s management has been keen to continue using Kylie.com, it seems that KylieMinogue.com is of no interest to them at all. This name has been parked at Sedo for a number of years.

I was just talking about this one the other day while watching Dr.Who, because Kylie Minogue was in one of the specials.

One of the Kardashians sued Kylie Minogue because they wanted to use the Kylie.com and they claimed they were 'more famous' than the registrant and therefore should be the rightful owners .

Interesting topic. Those are some great domains! I would love to see more\. Here's a couple other I know of:

Rodney Dangerfield, comedian, has been using www.rodney.com since 1996 (and his estate has continued with it after his death in 2004.)

Cindy Crawford (supermodel) has used www.cindy.com since the 1990s.

I own Jewelyn.com, which is a first name. But I think I will make it into a jewelry site instead. Seems to be a name that could be used either way :)
