Hi guys,

I was wondering if it is allowed to advertise Flippa auctions on social media (FB, Twitter, etc.).

Moreover, the big question is: Am I allowed to pay someone to advertise it on social media? (Example: Fiverr gig). I was thinking that it might get more exposure, but I am not sure if this infringes the terms of Flippa (couldn't find this written in their terms).

Thank you in advance,
Radu

P.S. I saw that there was a domain name that was advertised in a FB group by the Flippa seller. The auction ended recently and it seems like the sellers account is currently suspended.

Not for sure about FB but I see domains advertised on Twitter all the time. I don't see why Flippa would care as long as the link takes you to the Flippa sales page.

I think I've seen flippa advertising certain listings on twitter but if I remember rightly they just use the link to the website etc as when the auction ends the link is void?

But if a person lists the actual domain on twitter it's appears in the big G rankings etc even after the auction has ended which the new buyer might not appreciate etc

It is not only allowed but also encouraged by Flippa by putting the social share buttons on every listing :xf.smile:

Thank you all for the opinions

You're right, the buyer may not be happy about it. Probably it is better to put an image with the domain name and post only the flippa link.

But the image will appear in Google images tho lol

If you type flippa in to twit search box and click on flippa profile then view their tweets you will see how they post a tweet of one of the websites or domain listings that is in auction at that time which will give you a good idea how it appears etc

Alternatively flippa is on np and could answer your q in this thread? or via do etc

Flippa will be more than happy if Flippa auctions are promoted/advertised on social media. Traffic goes up, sales are done, revenue goes up. Everyone is happy.
