I am giving Undeveloped a try with some of my names. So far it's intuitive to use and simple in a good way.

Two of the names I tried to list were "already listed" and the system told me to reach out to them to clear this up. I sent an e-mail to their support and haven't heard back 18 hours later.

I think the language illustrated in this screen-cap could introduce doubt into a buyer's mind. The name is available to Buy Now, but elsewhere on the same page it says it "may" be for sale.

One last thing: the system seems to be slow, at best, to recognize once your uploaded names are using their nameservers. I uploaded my names first and then changed my nameservers. When I go into my settings, the system will not allow me to implement payment plans, because it says that at least 50% of my names must be using Undeveloped nameservers in order to implement payment plans. Well, 100% of my names in Undeveloped are using their nameservers and have been for the past 18 hours. It's unclear if the system will ever recognize that or if it's something you have to engage support to have them manually recognize it.

It might take 24+ hours to show as parked. Same happened with me but if it doesn't their support was pretty fast to check everything for me.

Yes, that is very strange and unfortunate that they changed the wording from "for sale" to "maybe for sale". On a positive note, it now says "listed by (seller name)" instead of the confusing "sold by".

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I quoted this part of what you said as this is the reason I have not moved forward with using their service. It is good they have added more phone numbers but this 50% rule is going to make me take most of my domains away from being 'available' on their site so that I can list a few for sale with payment options.

As a result only my lesser quality domains will be listed with them as is still better for me to leave my names parked with epik until/unless they eliminate the 50% rule.

eliminate the 50% rule

Do I have to change the nameservers to Undeveloped?

It is not required to change the nameservers to Undeveloped. Redirecting the nameservers, however, increases the chance of selling your domains because everyone who visits your domain name organically, sees that the domain name is for sale. And the interested party can make inquiries into the domain name instantly.

50% rule = offer in installments (If I remember well)

Maybe I am misunderstanding the rules...way too mentally drained today but will take another look...as I understand it half of the names (or more) you have listed on their site have to be parked with them before you can offer the installment payment option. In a day or so I will have to revisit their site with a more rested brain than I am working with now! :xf.smile:

50% or more parked = payment plan option = true

Hi Nat,

Thanks for the elaborate feedback! Your names will be added to your account. In weekends we respond usually better to urgent request or to support requests from buyers.

It's quite funny you raise the copy issue, we changed that literally on Friday due to popular demand from sellers. I agree the copy isn't optimal now for buy-now listings and we've already planned to make the copy smarter. For example when you have a buy-now set we'll still show "This domain is for sale".

Since we have millions of domains on our marketplace we run the parking counter once a day. Hence the delay. Eventually, it'll automatically pick up which names are using our nameservers within 24 hours.

Take care,

Reza

Sounds good to me. I can't really fathom why anyone would object to the language "This domain is for sale" unless they think it shows weakness on their part, like: Please, please buy me domain?

Eventually, it'll automatically pick up which names are using our nameservers within 24 hours.

Yup it already did. It took about 24 hours, so I'm all good with that now.

My all domains are listed there, their landing page is awesome . Even i have changed the nameservers to Undeveloped. That shows me which are my most viewed domains and how much traffic i am getting on those domains. Even it gives better chance to sell domain. We can add seller note as well. And the best thing we can see all over domain listed by a seller.
.
What i didn't liked changing of the wording from "for sale" to "maybe for sale". But at the same time it now says "listed by (seller name)" instead of the confusing "sold by".

Regarding the wording, some sellers have the assumption if you say "Is for sale" instead of "May be for sale" that you take more risks of getting a UDRP.

Internally, we have seen zero UDRP's on domains parked with us in the past 3 years and I personally also don't think it influences a panel, but due to very high demand for that change, we implemented it. We'll further iterate this feature to make it more robust.

Thanks,

Reza

It seems there's a bug when you try to set the Buy Now and Starting Offer price at the same time.

The system tells you that the Starting Offer must be at or above the Buy Now, which doesn't make sense.

Hi Nat,

Nice catch! It seems the logic is indeed implemented the other way around. We'll fix this.

Meanwhile, if you want to change the starting bid of a domain try editing directly in the portfolio view.

Thanks again for notifying us,

Reza

Hi just wanted to report that I already had a good sale of about $1,500 through an Undeveloped lander. I moved 175 domains there two weeks ago -- previously I had none. After the sale, I added another 75 domains.

This is great news! Was your name listed elsewhere for a while with no bites or is this a new purchase that was listed at undeveloped?

I have all of my names set up there but havent switched the DNS yet on the ones I want to test yet.

Congrats!

Was it a BIN or make offer?

I like the concept of undevloped. 2 things I dont like the fact it says this domain May be for sale and the time it takes to actually see the bin or make offer icon appear.

They have, thankfully, changed the wording back to "The domain name xxx is for sale" for names with BIN.

I bought it in January and had it listed in Afternic with a Uniregistry BIN lander up until a couple weeks ago. I've been playing with my prices, so I'm not sure what I had it listed for prior to bringing it to Undeveloped.

Was it a BIN or make offer?

It was a BIN with the option to make offer and/or use a payment plan. But the buyer simply BIN'd it.

the time it takes to actually see the bin or make offer icon appear.

Yeah I'm glad you brought this up. The time lag can be significant. I think I've seen it take up to 5 or 6 seconds.

We indeed changed back the copy and will later down the road implement a more elegant solution. Maybe even allowing the seller to edit the main title. We'll keep you posted :).

Regarding the loading time, on most connections and machines the lander should load fast. We chose to implement asynchronous loading so your buyer as soon as possible loads the page and see's the name is for sale. Later the other elements are loaded.

Having said this, speed on parking is quite important to us. Two weeks ago we started working on improving the load time of the javascript that we use on the for sales pages. It won't take long until we implement the improvements which should accelerate your landers.

Take care,
Reza

I had another sale via an Undeveloped lander. I had it listed with a $995 BIN and $500 min. make offer.

Got an email from Undeveloped that there was a $600 offer on it and I decided to just accept it off the bat. The offer turned out to be legit and the transaction has completed. Name has been transferred and I've been paid my $510 from Undeveloped.

So, another good experience with Undeveloped.

This was a name I hand-regged at MyDomain for $1.59 a year ago.

Also: because I was having trouble forwarding my names to the Afternic landing page, I just decided to point almost all of my non-BB names to Undeveloped. So I've got 500 domains pointing to Undeveloped now.

Recently started using Undeveloped with a few names, really easy to set-up and use the landing pages. Within a few weeks banked my first sale, and payment was received very quickly :xf.smile:

Now I'm slowly moving all my domains across and hoping for the next sale!

Many Thanks
