The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If you are just starting out, it would be best advised to not buy anymore domains, but rather read, read, read the threads here on Namepros, and the various domain blogs to get a better and fuller understanding of what are good invest-able domains, and save yourself a 'bunch' of money. Many, many a newer entry to domaining have learned the expensive lesson of buying too many (junk) domains when they start out, only to find out they're worthless and useless. Domaining is not about buying a bunch of domains thinking/hoping you'll make money, it's about buying the right ones that have value and sale potential.

Thank for your replay. I have read some domain ebooks and browsing np everyday. I think i have good domains but this is only what i think:D will see. I will stop searching new ones right now. Read and wait.

I focussed on quality. When I first started I only bought two word dot coms that made sense or go well together. I had about 5-7 domain names.

The less, the better FOR NOW.

Just remember, quality over quantity.

IMO, you need a lot of domains to get some idea of how many (and which) will receive offers or inquiries over a longer period of time. With just a few, your insight will be very limited.

That said, the problem is this knowledge costs money. 100 .com domains will set you back around $1,000.

I would make a wish-list of as many domains as possible, sorted by "perceived value".
Then I would wait for a $1-$2 promo to reg en masse.
In the meantime, I would read the NP forum threads :)

PS : Sure , it's better to have a few good names than many so-so names. But someone who is just starting out can't discriminate between the two, and may end up paying $69 a pop to backorder domains with little value.

12 domains are more than enough to try to do outbound and sell at least one of them. You can do this to find out if if you're investing in the right domains.

Send 20-35 emails out about each domain to people/businesses who may want to own it. If you don't sell any of them, immediately stop buying domains and study up on the domain industry more.

If you sell 2 or more, you may have an eye for sale-worthy domains, so buy more and repeat.

G'luck
