I have a lot of .ios and have been successful off them via not just domain sales,
But through development as well.

These are just a few here I like:

pey.io
Novelties.io
Valentines.io
Goe.io
teci.io
eTechnology.io
Denaro.io
eVirtualReality.io
eVirtual.io
tvz.io
VirtualAssistants.io
AutonomousVehicle.io
AutonomousVehicles.io
DriverlessVehicle.io
DriverlessVehicles.io
RobiticCar.io
RoboticCars.io

Truly though... my 3 favorite...
prk.io because I make so many sales from the name via redirect traffic from park
then of course...
iHeartRad.io
And then... lol...
Zuckerberg.io

Hey alcy,

Yea develop for revenue.
It's not that is does better in my view, because in all honestly... developing something correctly in any domain extension can be successful if done right.

But if you know how to develop (not you specifically, just speaking broad), and you hold good names like for example...
Celebs.io (that is a bad ass name and I'd develop that asap). That name to me, is $500/month adsense revenue (not counting other monetization methods of course). But making that into a celeb site only based off content and random features on the site, it would do veryyyy well.

Out of all my testing, I develop and sell .io sites for much more than any other extension (not counting .com-.net) because everyone else is doing the work for us basically when it comes to pushing ".io" to the average user.
Many know about it, many don't, and many just don't care what the extension is.
As long as you get in front of the correct audience, you're good to go.
But it only get's better when having a good name. Stats are always higher, unless you nail it with a brand name.
But everyone had the chance to score some great, exact match, keyword .io's, nail a solid CPC and up the value of selling Ad space because if the names and because of ad/banner buyers taking you more seriously, which many people only focus on flipping the name, (which is always good of course), but if you want to see real money, monthly, or just a .io sale to go quicker, develop it and sell it.

At the end of the day...
Everything sells.

With Celebs.io, after a few months, you'd have a hell of a social media following (social media pages SELL and add VALUE) especially when being about celebs.
The world is mesmerized by celebrities and you have the name to make that happen.
The stay time on that site would be amazing, ad space would sell every month for sure, adsense would be rocking and much more....
In general, Traffic would be booming and earnings would be great.
So you could either keep it and keep earning and expanding. Or sell it for a good amount of money and repeat the process in a different niche ect...

I renew some of them, for example iHeartRad.io, Prk.io and Zuckerberg (I'm developing that btw lol)
And the autonomous vehicles, robotic cars and driverless vehicles I renew, because I get offers on those all the time, but they will sell later on for a good amount of money when the time comes.
Some others I keep as well,
But the majority I sell before they expire i'd say.

wow thanks bud
that's some great info
the kind that'll make anyone want to get into developing..
sounds like .io is a great choice for development too! expensive to renew, but imagine buying celebs.com or even celebs.net/org ... so I guess if you can reg celebs.io for $30 like I did one hour ago (I'm sure it wouldn't last unregged long)... that still translates into small money compared to other extensions/options.

I should look into all this.. maybe hit you up in pm later on for some of your development skill or services. you never know.. cheers. tnx again.

That's a hell of a quick pick up.
Good stuff for sure.
And that's another point exactly... imaging celebs.com, .net or .org...
You snagged the .io
This kind of stuff is actually "happening" right now, where people are able to do that.
$30 just turned that into either a quick domain flip, wait it out... until the option to not be able to reg names like this again, how we are doing it now for example, and make it a big flip, or just go for it, and make it an outright hefty ass website sale.
And yea...
It wouldn't have stayed unregd for long, I mean... I would have probably grabbed that and started working on the site now if I saw it lol. So between me... and everyone else... you got a good scoop up right there without a doubt.
Also, of course,
PM me, I give all NP members a good deal if they want any development done, apps, graphics, programming, marketing, advertising, seo ect... done.
I'll help you out for sure and hook ya up.
So if, or whenever the urge strikes you to develop it, PM me, or go to my site and check out my business: Econowire.com and skype me, call me, or email me.

And thank you too btw,
It's been a pleasure,
We'll either talk soon, or meet again here on NP somewhere ;)
