I held a domain auction, a bidder won, then paid. I pushed the domain and it's been over a month and they haven't accepted the push.

I have been sending pm's to remind them to accept the push. I have offered help, although this person had many trade reviews and I know they successfully purchased many domains here on NP.

Well, today, I thought I would try to reach out again because the domain expires early next month. I discovered that their account now shows Auto Closed.

What should I do? I don't really want to pay the renewal and then later have to hand over the domain. Not sure what to do.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Do it like the registrars do.

Pay the renewal and give the person [x] amount of days to contact you (aka pay the renewal). If they don't get in touch after you executed due diligence, auction off the domain again.

OR

You could just let it drop. You did sell it, so treat it like the domain is no longer in your possession.

Either one works in my opinion.

Any of the above. Or alternately, you can refund the funds and contact the 2nd highest bidder to see if they're still interested in acquiring your domain

I Assume an np sale.
not sure if you can or should follow np rules if account auto closed

but.. I'd still confirm with @Eric Lyon

I would assume you have their paypal email, since you sent out a payment? Send him/her an official email documenting the steps you have undertaken to reach the domain to him/her. That you have followed all due process in your sale and this is the final reminder for him/her to accept the push. Attach all NP screenshots to it. Give it a due date of say xxxx days and say that, failing which you would no longer hold responsibility to the said name and shall be held harmless. With this, you have probably done everything you possibly can. Copy yourself on the email as well.

What you do with the domain after that is a judgement call, only you can take.:xf.smile:

@Silentptnr - Please add me to the direct conversation you have with that member so I can investigate further.

Thanks everyone. Eric will help. It was a name i auctioned here on NP. Its a nice domain.

I wouldnt drop it. I would like to see them receive it. Funny thing is, its been a month and ive been sending reminders well before the account was closed.

Thanks again. I will try to remember to post the resolution. Not a huge deal but I honor deals.
