What platform are your domains residing when you sell them?
Outbound sales?
Your own site?
Company Platform - Sedo,Bodis - etc.?

I have about 10 decent names I want to put somewhere - Bodis has been - meh?

Outbound sales here, which is the bulk of my business. Rarely, I also get offers through GoDaddy or simply inbound.

I point all my domains to my personal landing page. I run some targeted email campaigns to get the traffic but my number one source of revenue is via telephone (both inbound and outbound).

Since I put my telephone number on my site I have taken calls from as far away as Arizona, England, Australia etc.

I mostly deal in my local market so I'm kind of shocked to be getting calls for the few .coms I have but if I could make one recommendation..... put your phone number on your website.

Yes and it's a fairly recent thing.... I'm shocked how many calls I get.
Most are low ball offers but instead of getting upset I open up a dialogue and befriend the caller. I explain the advantages of a good domain and tell them about my comparable sales.

I learned from another member here to reply....
"I am sorry I need more for that one"

I don't say things like "are you crazy" or try to justify myself by comparing my domains to previous 100k sales.

I am reasonable, I listen to the client, and if possible we come to terms.

It's my cell phone and it has call block - I hang up and add the number to call block

It is a risk but no different from getting spam emails. I run a few businesses and cannot imagine doing business by not publishing my phone number. The risk of telemarketers is alway there but a quiet phone with no sales is far less appealing than a busy phone with sales.

most of my offers come thru landers. some come thru email very few come by phone. gd make offer is also good. sometimes i will get offers by afternic broker

2) add domains at afternic / you may add buy now price / they will double check if you own the domain before seling
3) add domains at sedo / don't add Buy Now here / as you run into trouble in case you don't own the domain no more
4) add domain to flippa / expect very low ball offers there
5) if you want a very mediocre but fast, gain sell them here

Flippa is crazy low - I just sold something and I am still waiting for him fund escrow - that's why I asked the question. I need something else.

you dont need to build a website. simple landing page with a contact form will work just fine. if you dont know how / want to do it yourself use efty.com or the likes.

yet, the easiest and a free way to get the same outcome is:

- turn privacy off
- mention "This domain is for sale" in your Whois records (in an address line, e.g.)
- list on Sedo and/or Afternic
- redirect both domain.com and www.domain.com to your Sedo listing page (https://sedo.com/search/details/?domain=domain.com)

I couldnt agree more with this post. Folks, please put a phone number in your marketing and ANSWER the phone when the buyer calls. You could be dealing with CEO'S and you might have only one shot to close on higher end domains.

Use a Google number and block every call that you dont like. I get lots of calls from web designers but I dont care. Like you said, a quiet phone is not good! The buyers by far make it worth for me to answer every call.

When the address in whois shows me in Australia wouldn't it be contradictory if i get a US number through google? Please shed some light on that.

Some of the offers come through GoDaddy and Sedo but by far most offers come directly via PM on twitter, IG or via email.
In the future I hope to add a lot of offers from NPs to that list :xf.wink:.

All my domains are in the public Whois because this makes it so much easier to set up sales through 3rd party websites.

A DIRECT sale however is always more profitable than through a 3rd party.

I have a friend that lives in India and has a USA number and does outbound marketing like I do and does well.
