I don't know anything about these kinds of domains like this one ☁.com . which was sold on flippa for $ 13,600 . Domain is an IDN . How much these kind of domains have value .

I personally don't see much value, unless every keyboard gets a button for each of those.

I don't see them as valuable as collectible either, because of the ugliness of the underlying address of xn--****

They seem cool when you look at the symbol, but when you start breaking down the url to .idn charachters, and .ws ending, it is really confusing, and no real consumer will ever be able to relate, between different idn characters, and then add random extensions on top.

Like anything some early people might be able to make some money on it, but most are going to lose money. If it was such a great thing, these guys would be compiling for themselves, not selling you on it. They need you to create a market, so they can sell, and exit.

If it's one or a hundred, if it sells there is a market. IMO ☁.com for 13k was undervalued. Emoji popularity across the globe is undeniable. Emoji domains with .com extension are extremely rare, only because they can't be hand-registered anymore.

If you can get yourself a 1 character emoji it could be a solid investment, depending on the emoji.

how do you advertise ☁.com?

Will the links here even recognize that as URL?

let's try:

http://☁.com

☁.com

This site can’t be reached
xn--l3h.com’s server DNS address could not be found.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

So, I guess, you are effectively buying for 13K xn--l3h, a 6 character, double dash, letter/number mix.

Emoji domains as an investment is an extraordinary risk in my opinion. I know there is some interest. I know a guy who has alot of them. I just couldn't see putting serious money into them at this point.

There are some people on this forum who pay you xxx for a one character emoji.

emoji are easy to type on the mobile, the new generation has grown up with it, and a picture will stick in your memory better and looks cool and they are rare, I think it may have some value. one word symbol are nice to have.

if i am not wrong, we can't type this ☁.com in mobile or laptop. The domain is an idn and we have to type http://xn--l3h.com/ .

I am pretty sure nobody actually polices what domains really have sold for they are the reported declared prices and sure i could easily get some nonsense listed if I tried.

Over 90% of the Online Population use Emojis … approximately 6 Billion Emojis are sent via mobile messaging daily around the world.

Emoji Domains Transcend Language Barriers, are Easy to Remember and are Easy to Share.

Emoji domains will be extremely valuable in the coming years and are growing in value.

One character .ws is taken
two charakter battle is now on ..
Godaddy has a lot of emoji allready in their platform ...

emoji domain is on come ...

They are not easy to remember. It's very easy to confuse similar variants of the same pattern for example:
  or :-/:guilty:

And they are not easy to type since they are not found on standard keyboards.

Emoji domains will be extremely valuable in the coming years and are growing in value.
Novelty strictly...

And they are not new at all. They are as old as IDNs. Just another domainer-made hype.

Yep they are valuable since you know at least one sold for $13,600 and all .com single emojis are registered.

I think only a few very popular single (1 character) emoji domains will be valuable. Those are really nice for promotions. But it's a high-risk investment.

I think emoji domains are valuable if used as a brandable commodity. I have three currently that are emoji text combo.
