This was the opening statement in a recent email I received from someone who was expressing an interest in one of my names. I jst deleted it, and didn't read the whole mail. My reason for this was that the email address in the registration details was the one to which they wrote. That hardly requires much digging around. I assumed the mail came from a low ball hunter looking for undervalued names.

Do you think I was sensible to ignore this email?

I quite like the name, so I don't really care if I don't sell it.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
What if that was the dream end-user who knows little about internet but wants your domain for his new moon tourism/ water house building/ bug cloning company? :)

I think every message is important, and you can never know how the story will end. Just play and see the ending :)

Those are just words. People write all sorts of things. Some have language barrier so they just copy email templates from the internet.

Did it arrive from fairdomains(.)org ? That's spam. Sensational openings attempt to catch your attention.

I don't remember sorry. I thought it was a rubbish opening, so I didn't bother to read it.
I'm getting so much spam from people with Asian sounding nmes, that I just delete those as well, sorry to all you genuine guys, but it's just a quick selection process.

You can check the deleted email folder.

Thanks, but the name is JetCash.com, and I won't sell it for less than £xx,xxx - and it is probably not worth that much. :)

Just make sure to sell it before you die. Most domainers are so in love with their valuations, they never consider, a majority of their names will be left behind when they exit this world. :)

checking the deleted email folder is not worth it? Every single lead is worth it. A simple one line reply takes few seconds, you can even write down sample replies and just copy and paste when replying to inquiries like that. If you don't think it's worth it, JetCash won't make you any cash.

Many members here think that contacting potential buyers (or replying to emails) is not worth it/waste of time.. while they post threads about it, & post tens of posts...

I decided that he was a bargain hunter because of his opening line, and that's why I didn't bother to reply. I did reply to another guy who sent me a nice email for another name, and I sold that for $2k, and I sold another one for $250. I'm just not being proactive at the moment. I'm hoping names will increase in value after the economic meltdown. :)

Posting here helps me to improve my knowlege, and it gives me a few ideas. It's also relaxing.
