sales Aron Meystedt Sells Tablets.com

NameSilo
Aron Meystedt, owner of XF.com Investments and Director of Intellectual Property at Heritage Auctions has sold the domain name Tablets.com.

The news was confirmed by Aron (@XF.com) today, telling NamePros that an investor had acquired the domain name, but no sales price could be revealed.

The domain name was acquired by Aron in 2010, who set about developing the name in the wake of Apple's iPad release, which fueled desire for tablets.

In an interview with NamePros conducted last year, Aron described Tablets.com as:
...one of the few category-defining domain names I have. I think someone with e-commerce connections and some motivation could do great things with the name.

Aside from his work with Heritage Auctions, Aron is well known within the industry for owning some incredible domains. His portfolio includes XF.com, March.com and the world's oldest domain name, Symbolics.com.

Congratulations to Aron on selling this incredible domain.

Congrats to the owner & to his domain sale and thanks for sharing this domain sale news, although the most interesting point in a domain sale, the sales price, could not be revealed...

Interesting timing, I feel maybe the market peaked 2 years ago.

When people say tablet when talking about apple products they say ipad, bypassing tablet all together.

Either it is a hardware company, or there are so many tablets out there, name is perfect for a marketplace, even refurb, or used store.

I would assume he would not sell it for less than 6 figures, just how many is the real question?

Sorry but @XF.com is keeping this information private :)

His portfolio is less than 20 names from the looks of it. He must have got what he thought would be the best number he was going to get in the short term to make the deal.

Tablet sales have been on the decline for the past two years. Smart move to sell, even at reseller pricing. I have a feeling this domain will be the next dvds.com

Congratulations to Aaron who seems like a really nice guy, but here is what I was wondering and find weird. He is the Director of Intellectual Property at Heritage Auctions (mainly does premium domains) and Heritage Auctions is one of the biggest auction houses in the world. Why wouldn't he put it up for auction with a reasonable reserve instead of reaching out to individual buyers? Unless he did put it up and it did not fetch what he wanted and decided to unload it before it gets worse though I can't imagine it can. This is a GREAT name and should fetch no less than 6 figures.

Tablets are dead. Good for him to get rid of the name. But he is a little bit late.
