Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Great sale, be interesting to see what happens to this domain. If it's VR/AR/MR related then Virtual+keyword domains may still be alive and well :xf.cool:

This is one of the strengths of 'Virtual' domains, they work for VR, AR, MR and HOLO. Kinda wish I'd invested in more of them.

virtual+keyword has always been alive and well.. and always will be imo.
its far more general use than just VR industry. its not like apple and oranges, but there is a fundamental differtence between VR and virtual doamins.

you did not miss much by not investing in virtual+kw.com before.. as its been fetching top prices for far longer than VR+kw.com. and its average keyword domain age is far greater than VR+keyword.. in most cases.. even the less premium or avergae keywords.

that being said, I am sure arrival of VR for good recently, has increased value of virtual+kw.com dn.

cheers

The most interesting thing about VirtualGirl.com selling for $8200 is that GoDaddy would have profited from it as the owner had let it expire or forgotten to renew it.

hmmm.. don't they have a window after auction ends to renew it or osmething? this happened to many other names before. I am not familiar with how this works.. or exact lifecycles and steps after expiry... but I heard many times of this happening.

I'm not exactly sure how it works but my GoDaddy account manager told me the owner let it expire and it's moved to their expired auctions. I only got to call as they know that I have a strong interest in Virtual & VR domains...
It's a very good domain IMO

hmm... not sure either... but even if owner does still now have such renewal window.. I can only asssume your account mngr would not be trying to get you to bid on it by talking to you about it ;)

I suppose it'll be itneresting to see if this domain does indeed get renewed.

regardless of that, its a great market evaluation sale... for now.. for this domain type and keyword.

I think the previous owner will still have a while to renew it, all be it with an extra fee of around $80.

Expiring domains that don't get bid on then go into the BIN clearance phase for a few days, so I believe that period of time still has to be allowed, even though it's already sold.

When an auction closes on an expired domain (not talking about BIN clearance phase) it takes about 7-8 days to hit the new owners account so the previous owner does have lots of time to renew.

I believe to avoid the 80$ fee or so.. he can also transfer out for free.
