GoDaddy Account Push Option Now Requesting Email Confirmations From All Parties???

Anyone come across a push, and from taking 1 minute, it now takes however long it takes for all parties to confirm email confirmations.

First it will send an email asking you to confirm the account change then it will ask the other party to confirm the account change, then once confirmed it will go back into pending update, and start the push process? At which point the incoming account party has to manually accept the account push.

Updates have been submitted and can take up to 5 days to display.

I got like 5 emails over the course of a single push.

It was a real pain, the newbie experience will not be fun, Anyone come across this yet?

Weird. I have not tried today, but pushed a domain yesterday without issue.

No, yesterday was a dream, today it is a nightmare.

Bother buyer, and seller have to confirm name change confirmations, before the status will change to changing accounts, and only then buyer can accept the domain into their account via incoming domain changes.

The status updates between each step, and delayed via pending update status, based on how slow godaddy is at that time, making it even worse. A simple push, is no longer a simple push, especially working with a newbie buyer.

Whereas before you input details, and push, now you have to confirm the email you are sent, and if buyer does not confirm their email, the status of the domain stays in Pending Update.

After you complete this first round godaddy gives a clear disclaimer stating that updates can take up to 5 days to complete.

Only after this step is complete, can you move onto the old way of doing things, which is the final step.

Sold 5 domains in the past 5 days, all domains were at Godaddy. I noticed this happening only with the last couple domains yesterday and today. The sales from last weekend are all showing the new owners' whois, but yesterday and today's sales are still showing my info. Don't know if that's just taking the normal while for whois to update, or if this new process has anything to do with it.

I just got off the phone with them. It threw me off as well. I thought that I was doing something wrong, so I just canceled the whole thing to regroup.

Godaddy has created a big mess. You can no longer push A domain with privacy, it has to be removed first. I also saw a 10 day lock push rule, I am assuming this is for push, as transfer is 60 days.

A domain name must be in active status to change accounts. If a domain is in active status but past its expiration date, it will not allow the account change to be initiated.

Domains that change accounts will have a 10-day transfer lock for fraud protection.

More rules, not a big one, but you need to really read to get thru all the specifics.

If you go to the Godaddy Account Change FAQ change, it is all described in a very poorly worded, and confused fashion.

Newly registered .info domains have a 5-day hold period before a Change of Account can be initiated.

@Joe Styler can you comment on some of these unannounced changes.

If you are moving a domain that has privacy enabled, the privacy will be removed in the process and you will need to purchase it again once the move is complete.

Awful.

I haven't experienced any of this yet, but thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Yesterday, and today as stated above are different, things have changed.

That's now has put the final block on me accepting any domains being pushed at any registrars on NP Marketplace. I already had a block on accepting domains from most registrars. Now I will only buy domains which are in a transferable state at ANY registrar. Now to update my signature again :(

Some more rules, if you can understand them, they all sort of cross over each other, just a ton of locks:

We display a list of the services that we'll cancel after you move the domain name from your account. You can't reverse a cancellation after you agree to the move. There will be a 10-day transfer lock after the domain is moved into a new account.

  1. Read the Domain Name Change of Registrant Agreement, and, if you agree to the terms, select I have read and agree to the Domain Name Change....
When you change the Organization or the First name or the Last name (in the absence of an Organization entry), you must agree to a 60-day lockdown to continue. If you have a .au domain name, a 60-day lock will not apply.

  2. If you want to transfer your domain name during the 60-day period, decline the Change of Registrant and transfer your domain name before updating the Organization, First name, or Last name fields. Otherwise, select I understand that, if I want to transfer this domain....
  3. Click Finish.
If you are moving a domain that has privacy enabled, the privacy will be removed in the process and you will need to purchase it again once the move is complete

Wow. I can understand the logic. But this is way, way too over burdensome.

I actually have a push locked in pending status for 2 hours not after me, and buyer both confirmed, it was under privacy, so had to remove privacy, and redo, now it has gotten stuck in the system, even godaddy tech support can't do anything until morning about it.

It is not fun, what was supposed to be a routine 1 minute push, turned into the buyer calling tech support 3 times, me talking to 2 different people, and a supervisor, and nobody can fix the pending status lock until morning.

So every step in the domain push, now goes into pending status, if the godaddy system is slow somedays as you know, such pending statuses can take 30 mins to update, godaddy has a disclaimer that it can take up to 5 days to confirm a push contact update if necessary.

I am not sure where all this came from, but totally out of left field.

The 10 day lock for push, is another thing they are going to have to look at. They should have an opt out method.

Many times domains are brought to godaddy to push to a clients account to make it easier than making them do an auth code, not sure if a 10 day lock would be put in place here.

Yet another reason to move away from GoDaddy.

Godaddy has left a huge loophole open in this new transfer method.

When you start a push, and you accept new registrant changes, and they don't, the domain will stay in pending status for 5 days, and you can't do anything with it, you are at the mercy of the other side accepting.

If they just ignore it, your domain is disabled from you.

This should never be the case for 5 days.

I don't know why the interrupted their whole platform over this, they don't run fast enough to process update commands without delay:

While many others are improving with each day (NameSilo, Epik...), GoDaddy is going in a different direction.

I ran into this issue yesterday evening. After submitting the push, the domain was showing 'Pending Update' in the GoDaddy control panel so I first of all assumed their system was just running slow. Then I received an email:

Contact info changes pending.
You have 5 days to approve the updates you requested to the domain(s) below.

ICANN, the organization that oversees domain name policies, requires confirmation of contact info changes from both current and new registrants. You requested updates for:

Domain

Review Contact Info changes

We won't change anything unless we receive your approval within 5 days. To stop the update and remove the 5-day DNS domain lock, follow the cancellation instructions here

I approved the contact info changes. The push completed around 16 hours after first initiating the account change.

What that equates to in escrow situations is you won't get paid as fast, and you will have to babysit the transaction when dealing with newbie buyers.

16 hours for a domain push? Unreal

I can transfer out faster than that

I'm going through it right now for the first time and the domain is showing "pending update" status after like 30 minutes and still haven't received an email from Godaddy to approve the push.

I can see this being a real big pain in the a when dealing with buyers that don't check emails often. Now it will take like 2 weeks to complete a sale. I might have to start using a new registrar this is ridiculous.

Made a couple sales earlier in the week with no problem, I don't understand the need for this.
