question Where to lease a domain of mine

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I got an inquiry to lease one of my domains but the only place I know that does leasing is Epik and domain is not registered with them.
Moreover, domain cannot be transferred due to the 60day lock.

Does anyone know of a place where my domain will not have to be registered with them but still offer leasing services?

thanks in advance

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Why can't they just send you a monthly check and point it to where they want?

I want to save me the hassle of checking if the payments are made etc. each month. I'd like someone else to do that for me and sort things out in case of issues.

Epik would be the perfect solution but unfortunately I BOed the name elsewhere and thus can't use them.

Undeveloped offers installment payment sales plan. No need to transfer the domain to, say, Epik. From what I hear, a push to Undeveloped's account with your domain's current registrar will do. This is different from leasing per se, of course.

Thanks people, I'll see what my options are at undevelop and progress from there or I might just try and sell the domain in the end.
The interested party wants the traffic anyway.

Maybe ask them to pay the first three months upfront, then that will give you time to get the name over to Epik and setup the lease transaction for the remainder of the term.

That or Escrow.com if the price justifies their fees

Hi

write up your own agreement and have them send monthly payments

don't let someone else count your money... cuz, only you can prevent forest fires.

also, you don't transfer the domain until after final payment is made.

if you need assistance, hit me

imo....

PayPal has a subscription service that automates the process of rebilling. Could work as a "lease" option.

Pointing your domain to whatever your customer wants is basically a subscription service right?

Don't like PayPal?

CCBill.com is another one. It's what certain "unmentionable " sites use for their subscription services.

You could just take monthly payments for now and bill them as a hire charge, then move to a lease when you have transferred the domain later. There are pros and cons - a lease ties both parties in for the term. If someone uses your domain for a month and trashes it and stops paying you lose more than you gain I'd say.

I should of have mentioned that we communicate with the interested party via g-translator

That's the main reason I need others to handle this so I don't have to constantly check if everything is ok or if the terms were understood etc.

I'm leaning in selling the name so... thank you all for the contribution. I'll see if they agree in buying.

@biggie , I totally appreciated the hand of help you offered.. double thanks.

I think escrow.com would support that

One time a buyer was saying if they get a check this weekend etc. then they buy. I suggested they put money down about 40% and pay the rest in 3 monthly payments, all on paypal and I would hold the domain and point it to where ever she wanted until she paid it off and then transfer it.

She was fine with that and bought right away and made each payment when I sent a bill thru paypal and then I transferred when it was paid off. It all worked out fine.
