Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
VR
VirtualReality
Virtual
VRGames
VRCasino
VRP*RN/O
VRS*x
VRTV
LiveVR
VRLive
Metaverse

And just maybe VRSports

Dot com or dot cn for the non adult and gambling names .

Those are the only VR domains that I can imagine having solid 7 figure potential. Other domains have some potential obviously, but the ones I listed above are the only VR domains that have solid, undeniable 7 figure potential, IMO. I am no expert and I hope that I'm wrong....But this is how I see it, realistically..

Discounting LL .com’s as it’s obvious they are potential 7 figures, I’d say only VirtualReality.com & AugmentedReality.com are the only domain names in virtual related tech with a big BIG chance of being 7 figure sales one day.

Domains which also has a chance MixedReality (depending how the term grows)/Holo and Virtual itself – If I owned any of those in .com, I’d be holding with ‘hope’ of selling for 7 figures one day.

Names like Immersive/Metaverse – I See as potential 6 figures, same with ultra premium VR+keyword names.

Totally agree. Some Virtual+Keyword as well. I think the 5 figure range will start to get more active as well with a mixture of brandables+Keyword combos of both VR and Virtual.

Did some investing this summer in some vr domains.. i think they will be equivalent to Smart-domains in the future.

I will not let them them go for less than €2K.

I was a bit late in the game but got a couple of premium domains....

not alot of drops nowadays so i took what's left and it was a mixture of very good names..

Now I will upload these to the markets and wait for the offers.. let's hope for a fluke VR year people...
Welcome to NP and the VR thread AvTara!

By any chance are you related to @Avtar629?

Searches for 'vr videos' now lower than March last year :

We're doomed.

:ROFL::ROFL: I really don't think so, working in this area everyday and it's just accelerating everyday more. Google is one thing but the field is another :) cheers

Well I don't really think we're doomed but you'd have to be a little bit blind almost I'd say to be 100% confident it will be a smooth ride to the promised land of mainstream VR adoption in 2022 or so.

I also am 'in the field' and numbers definitely are dropping. I realize that tools such as Google Trends can be misleading but it's easy to say that 'people know where to find it without Google now', but it's not quite the whole truth. The people who know 'where to find it' are the people who have already found not just where to look but what to look at. With the number of headsets on the market now the number of 'fresh out of the box' consumers eager to get their hands on (and pay for) content should be outpacing the existing users who 'know where to look'.

As an example of the reality 'in the field', a number of adult VR companies are now offering affiliates just $20 for sending them a new sale. This is ridiculously bad even for the present state of the industry (I worked in the adult industry 15 years ago pre-tube/torrent era and back then the standard was $35 per sign up.). This means that 'retention rates' are particularly disappointing for VR sites. In other words, people are signing up out of curiosity, watching a couple of videos, then cancelling or not renewing their memberships. I know of one very large adult company that placed all its bets on VR and that hasn't even been paying out for months.

Sorry to sound pessimistic and I realize that this is a 'showcase' thread, but I don't think even the most optimistic expected to be making huge domain sales right now, so I believe some honest talk should be allowed.

@cordoba
yes sure honest talk is always good even if it sound pessimist :) i also agree with your statement, it's a complex ecosystem and it will be some failure like with every technology. But the VR revolution is on it's way even if it will take some time for the full adoption. Time is the key and patience too. It's just a new born at the moment we have to let him time to grow :)

DominatedVR is okay, save your money and drop the rest. Read the thread and find out what constitutes a decent domain.

Please change your avatar also, extremely overweight children are not funny or cool. Do not follow @Avtar629 choice of avatars. People might even be less likely to buy from you if you they dislike you avatar. O_o

I tried to buy a Playstation VR headset today and they were sold out in all the major electronics stores in central Tokyo. They also couldn't give me any idea when they might have them in stock, including the flagship Sony store. I suppose this indicates that there is a lot of demand for this type of VR, at least in Japan.

On the other hand, if you're a pessimist, you could argue that Playstation don't or didn't have confidence in its success and so decided not to produce too many of them.

pessimism is good.. as long as its based on some fact.. same for optimism

VR will take a while.. maybe long while.. but no one should make mistkae it'll be revoilutionary.. it's not an IF.. it's a WHEN. could take more than 5 years for sure .. for tech to catch up with expectations and ambitions etc..! problem is... you don't want to be starting to own VR domains in 5 years.. that's for sure. ;) you want thme in yuor portofolio WAY before that :)
like 5-10 years ago... ideally :)

cheers.

switched back today to my simple old homemade sale lander today.. just a little 2 minute to build wordpress thingy... no hosting needed.. plug and play...

for past couple months I was on ........ gd auctions lander redirect .. but its tricky.. not easy for endusrs to make offer... need open account+pay $5 to join gd auctions... just to make offer... plus 20% fee of course.. well.. there are good things about it though.. binding offer.. guaranteed payment.. so its always tough call to switch or to stay.. gotta try both ways I guess.. but I fear I may have missed on some potential offers.. even thoiugh got couple sales through that gd lander, that who knows maybe I'd not have got on homemade lander.. I Guess we'll never know...

anyway... all this to say.. just got an offer of 2k on my lander today..
guy gave good name.. good email... let's see what comes out of it...
cool name... short and sweet.. but this ultra early into VR, gotta price things accordingly... no time to get greedy now.. later yes.. not now. ;)

V R scoop (.com)

replied asking for payment method. let's see how it unfolds!

lol I may have really missed out on some offers on that GD sale lander..

since switching to my old homemade lander 2 hours ago.. I already got 3 offers.

1 non VR...... 2 VR

escapade VR.....com being latest.. quoted price. will keep posted.

I better stay away from redirecting to GD lander in future.. its great when people reach you there through GD and make offer there.. but to force every incoming traffic typein to open account there and pay $5 just to make offer is probably a real bad idea... can be turnoff for some endusers! why take chances!

cheers
