Hi everyone,

So I had this offer coming from inquiry form. The buyer gave his phone number, in addition to the email address.
I was wondering what is the best thing to do first - reply with email as we usually do, or call him straight up after thinking on a price tag.

I assume that, if he did left his phone, perhaps he's expecting a phone call.

what's your thoughts?

Excellent question, looking forward to replies. For my own self landers I just added an optional phone field, as maybe this is a good pre-qualification of the seriousness of the buyer.

If he's left a number, then that would appear to be one of his preferred methods of contact. I'd offer two caveats.

Make sure it isn't a premium rate number.
Use a secondary phone in case he is harvesting live phone numbers.

Not many like to be (cold) called on phone. They just leave the number because that adds credibility to their inquiry. First you can send them email stating that you have provided this number. You can provide your number as well and ask them what is a good time to talk to them. Also indicate your availability. Basically you are showing them seriousness as they are. Secondary phone is always a good idea. Running a check on their number would not be a bad idea also.

If you do not hear within a week, then there is no harm in calling. Some people just do not check emails or emails get to spam folder.

Just withhold your tele number when you call if you are unsure ? You could also Google the number and you will soon find out if he / she is a serial scammer. Do the same with the email addy.

Best,
Paul

If you want to talk to him, send an E-mail first, and ask what would be the appropriate time to call.

I would send an email first and wait. On your email communication you can calculate and measure every word and he will be able to read it when he can or wishes to do so.

Phone calls are, of course a valid way to get in touch with the client, but they are always intrusive and the result is more unpredictable than that of an email message.

I would use the phone only as a second choice.

Thank you guys, very taughtful sights.

I decided to mail first, wait for reply, and if he wishes so we could speak over the phone. If I don't get reply at all i'll do the call.
I'll double check the given addresses. Thanks!

I have domain CarryService(dot)com This domain fit for moving businesses. Also on Google is popular seach phrase carry service

I contacted all business owners which sites Google displayed for carry service and carryservice.com via contact form on their sites or their contact email directly from my email. Also replied to those who placed ad on classified sites.

No reply still. What I did wrong?

It would be hard to say what you might be doing wrong, since there are so many variables.

First of all, the domain is not that good, although you may find a buyer for a few hundred.

It is too general and not necessarily the phrasing people use. Notice that in most cases it appears on Google as part of a longer and more specific phrase.

Even when the name is good, it does not guarantee you will get a response. When this happens to us, we just leave the name alone and move on to the next one.

Having said that, there are many things you might need to consider:

Are you emailing people from a free email service?

Are you sending bulk emails?

Is your message spammy or pushy in the way you use the language?

Does your email look professional and contain sufficient and clear contact information from the sender (you)?

Only a few things to think about, since there are many other factors.

Well, there could be plenty of possible explanations for bot getting a reply, for example:
1. The email addresses / contact forma you obtained might be unused or unchecked. I do not believe in cotact form. Finding the BEST email address for you is not a simple task, it requires thorough investigation to get the email of a DECISION MAKER.
(solution: install hubspot sales on your email account to view wether the participant has opened the mail or not. Plus read more about finding the best email to contact with)
2. The content of your message. Many times we add irrelevant information or not approaching correctly to the potential client.
(solution: check the forum for tips, templates etc for contacting end users. There is a whole thread dedicated to it).

Well it's pretty generic but I hope it might help you a bit.
