.io .io Thread and Showcase

Watch
Bought a new .io domain through sedo last week a NN.io , bit of an investment and gamble but worth a shot in my opinion.

Anyone investing in .io domains? please feel free to share your investments.

Cheers

eWallet.io might have a bit of mileage in it if it's marketed right. Personally I would sit on it for a few years and see how the whole io thing pans out.

Best,
Paul

Rmi.io put it in auction on Flippa with no reserve and just 4 days to end if there isn't any decent offer i think i will hold on to it for a couple of years until 3 letters .io rise up in prices.

CasinosOnline.io also is in auction on flippa and only 4 days to end this domain is one of those domains that i see big value if the auction doesn't sell i will hold on to this one.

Mythology.io also on the way to flippa auction, 1 word .io see BIg value one this one to this one is one of my favorites.

IMO, AI will be the next IO extension, and I'm buying!

i'm not denying there could be a land-rush on dot-AI - its a pretty hot topic, but dot-IO is more generic, or more meaningless depending on your point of view ;)

Ai is geared toward artificial intelligence whereas io is all tech, mobile, vr, ar, startups.

All technology will have an element of artificial intelligence (AI) to it someday, which is not the same as being sentient. Artificial intelligence, today, means that it'll learn from interactions with it and do a greater job because of that. Even before technology uses AI, company names with "AI" in them will be seen as superior over all other technology companies.

AI inherently means smart technology
, inasmuch as IO means standard/old technology.

Do you want marketing.ai or marketing.io to bring you customers? You want your competitors to use marketing.io, because Marketing.ai will win in a marketing contest every time by adapting to whatever marketing.io does and defeat it.

You'll see. :borg:

You're probably right - AI could simply become a by-word for "up-to-date / latest tech", without most people really understanding what it really means. I can really see that.

In the 80s everything was suffixed "turbo" to make it sound new & sexy, in the 2000s the must-have suffix was "digital" - may be "ai" will be the must-have suffix of the next 10 years, for everything from trainers to wash powder.

To be fair, this isn't really what dot-IO is used for - its used by tech start-ups to badge themselves as such - I don't suppose most domain owners have any idea what IO means.

It has been said that IO was popular becuase it was backed by British Law which has strong protection for property ownership - I guess AI also has that going for it - but looks like the registry operation is a bit low-tech!

I have sold V-Wallet dot com this year. eWallet .io is a kick ass domain.

V-Wallet fort Virtual wallet, ewallet for electronic wallet. The future of payments!

I don't understand moderation in this thread. My post was deleted for linking to an outside auction. The thread is full of posts like this... literally half the posts on the previous page are flippa links... unmoderated.

@mdent I'm has confused has you this thread is a showcase thread so supposedly we should be able to showcase .io domains that are in auction even if its in a different marketplace but from namepros rules this is not allowed unless its in the external domains threads i can understand that and i like that they have this rule because it helps namepros to stay spam free but when there are enormous amount of people linking to external auctions on different marketplaces like flippa on this thread and namepros staff doesn't delete does posts it just send's out mixed signals. Can i post my domain with a link to my auction in this thread even if its in auction on another marketplace or not??

not really an .io invstor here.. .io price is beyond ridiculous... even after the $32 or so most places discount regs for.. then renewals are I think 3 times that??? unless I'm missing sometyhing and you people know of places to reg for less than $30.. and renew for less than about tripple that..

but I do admit it makes for a real nice startup extension.. especially for tech companies!!! but any startups really! much like .co

either way.. regged my first .io today.. there was enough common word -ing ending sales .io to motivate me.. from walking.io to some others... let's hope I won't be disappointed.... and it better happen before the $100 renewal time :)

Breathing .io
