Hi all,

Your friendly neighbourhood domain registrar here, just wanting to let you all know that, for a limited time and while "stocks" last, all .COM registrations and transfers at AlpNames.com are only $4.99 - and there are no volume limits. :)

Cheers,

Team AlpNames

Really, there's not a huge rush, as long as the transfer is already paid for at the promo price, it will be fine to continue once the links are fixed, email can be resent with one click.

Appreciate the fast response anyway @AlpNames

You should convince the Powers That Be to extend the promo another 48 hours to accommodate the minor hiccup : wink :

how do you resend those confirmations emails if that's what you meant?

OK promo still working as of Fri Feb 10 06:00 UTC 2017
Just be sure the price still shows $4.99 as you are checking out - if doing bulk, check with a single first : wink :

During this promo completed transfers from NameCheap Rebel Dotster NetFirms MyDomain Dynadot

Finally got the system down - I also use a coded email system for whois so this is only an issue if your whois info is unique for different domain names.
Change whois at losing registrar FIRST, careful to OPT OUT of 60 day change lock, and verify it matches exact default info for my AlpNames account, THEN initiate transfer. It will work kinda sorta if you don't but creates a mess of multiple emails to respond to. Stupid ICANN

Looking forward to testing out the AlpNames Marketplace now : thumbsup :

...you noticed! Seriously, we're as surprised as you!

...and we'd be happy to have you testing it out! Please bear in mind that it is still very much in beta - we have some big plans for it, but it needs some development time...something that is scarce around these parts! Still, for now, it is a commission and fee free way to showcase your domains and, hopefully, sell one or two. :)

Just registred one, keep an eye there those days maybe more to come
@AlpNames
The website showed me prices in LBP but I prefered USD, well, when I changed to USD (at check out) I had to re log in and search again. This should be fixed. Most people prefere USD/ EUR/CAD/AUD no matter where they live :D

Overall, it's nice :)

btw.
Domain Secret
Set the authorization code to transfer the Domain Name

Domain Secret is the same thing as the auth code? I'm hyper clicking the website. need a coffee

Noted re. currency - that's our system trying to be helpful! Prices in currencies other than USD are only for illustrative purposes only, we always bill in USD.

Yes, the "Domain Secret" is the auth/EPP code - our backend is provided by a third party and we have no idea why it is called a domain secret...you are not the first to suggest it be changed!

Thanks for your business.

.COM's STILL $4.99!!! I swear I wasn't trying to encourage sales, we really were told to expect it to end...perhaps they've forgotten! ;)

Well, that means I was lucky if actually the promo is ending
The funny fact about USD vs LBP (Lebanese Lira) is that I'm currently living in Lebanon but hell no, I can't read all the thousands numbers so all time I swich to USD, even in real life. And that afte 4 months, I still prefere to use USD instead LBP/ LL (luckily is legal to pay in USD anywhere).

Also I shared the offer with some friends, maybe they want to grab something too.

well its not particularly relevant if you were trying to encourage sales or not.. its a good sale so you'd be encouraging a good thing in the end... the only losers would be those who do not take advantage of it :)

just wanted to ask.. cause I'm stuck at a place now (like many others out there) where bulk transfer codes aren'ty doable... so its one by one..

does your company allow bulk transfer codes? if not on users end, then maybe by opening ticket?

and if not, can you somehow implement that...

thanks!

is promo over?
I can enter domains to transfer.. then click continue.. then it says how much its billing me like always

but then nothing gets added to domain list and no funds are substracted... and no emails of confirmation come in.

weird way to end promo... I thought it'll just show increased price.

@alcy - I just did one more transfer to test - still working at $4.99 but I did it single not bulk, how many you doing?

never mind
unlike previous transfers, this one actually took about 10 mins to begin and show uip in manager and charge funds

so I guess the promo still on

maybe some weird random delays now indicating the promo is almost over

who knows :)
hehe

but it was way smoother yestersay and before that..

I usually did like few at a time.. 5-10 domains.. so its not some big bulk trasnfers at once.. I guess they are just having some dleays... I never saw them before so I concluded its either over or some bug or failure. cheers

I transfer 4 domain but I never get confirmation email, I test with 1 domain success.
click 2-3 a day re-send on "Pending Approval Button" but it goes nowhere, maybe there's bug in their system/email.
Then I sent EPP code to support email, then immediately I got confirmation email.

So yes, by opening ticket.

Can someone please tell me where to find the "Move Services link" in the Alpnames control panel. It is not where their FAQ says it is and I can't figure out any way to do an account push to a buyer.

Go to the domain in question
Manage Orders -> List/Search Orders -> Then click on the name you wish to process

Upper Right - it's a BLUE underlined link (edit for better pic)

Also I *think* they changed the push and change contact policy because of the new ICANN nonsense so it might be better to change the contact info to your buyers info FIRST, then you each have to approve the change emails, THEN do the push or else ya gotta depend on your buyer to change whois AND you will have to approve the change after as well.

It's on my list of things to test so maybe @AlpNames can chime in with best practices or someone else can answer.

since there clearly isn't much you do not know..are you aware whether alpnames offers bulk transfer auth codes to clients? for you to get or via ticket support?

like godaddy does for instance.. like domain.com does not do.. and like most other places do not do.

this kinda went answered by alpnames rep here.

tnx

. . . alpnames offers bulk transfer auth codes to clients? for you to get or via ticket support?

@AlpNames has superpowers - They answered before you asked!
And their offer is super since I have other LogicBoxes resellers whom I have asked the same and they are NOT willing to help (BigRockIN and ResellerClub) It is not part of LogicBoxes

Please ask LogicBoxes to add the Bulk AUTH-codes export...It is absent in their panel and a real trouble for medium and large portfolios...

Noted - and it has been requested previously! I believe there are security concerns at play here. You could always provide us with a list of domain names and we could pull the EPP codes manually for you.

Personally, I am making my own Auth Code spreadsheet for all names at all registrars, IN THEORY if I do this diligently as part of my system when registering names I will always be prepared. Getting the codes for the existing thousands, yup, that's tedious.

PS The Only True Wisdom Consists In Knowing That You Know Nothing : wink :
