Hi all,

Your friendly neighbourhood domain registrar here, just wanting to let you all know that, for a limited time and while "stocks" last, all .COM registrations and transfers at AlpNames.com are only $4.99 - and there are no volume limits. :)

Cheers,

Team AlpNames

Hi all,

This promotion has been a roaring success, but we are now being asked to wind it down. As such, please be advised that our .COM pricing is likely to change at some point today - we do not know the exact time, just that we should expect to end the promotion on fairly short notice and increase our prices accordingly.

If you intend to register or transfer any domains in the next few hours please DOUBLE-CHECK the price you are paying.

Thanks everyone for playing so nicely! :)

Nooooo! : sobs :

Thanks for the heads up @AlpNames and the continuous support here on NamePros and directly : smile :

Transfers are definitely more challenging after the Dec 1st ICANN changes and the info you have shared in this thread has been super helpful

PS Did one at approx Thu Feb 9 15:00 UTC 2017 so worth trying still!

just curious
if I make deposit funds using paypal say $100
anyone knows how much goes back to my paypal if I do withdraw? I hear they take regular 3-4% paypal fee on it

anyone tried?
tnx

Likely they just cover their pp costs since it's a partial refund, they get charged for that. Plus the lovely thing is they are NOT charging prefund fees - most all my other prefunds have a 2-4% fee. I just went to check at Alp and it does not tell you before you have to click the request refund button. You can ask support if you request the refund, and they do it manually if they can tell you the fees ahead of time.

Why refund anyway? Just buy more names : grin :

well u know how it is..
yuou preload your account for the $5 promo
then promo dies suddenty and you get $500 left
something like that

yeah its nice they do not charge to fund it.. but.. clearly, it does suck you pay paypal fee to get it back.. since they are using paypal itslef as gateway I think.. I forget the name of it.. BRAINTREE i think... which is some special paypal processor... then maybe a free two way (in and out) arrangement could have been made between them.. but.. I guess not

thanks

Hi, we do not charge customers to withdraw to PayPal. :)

PayPal is actually fairly friendly in that regard - if we process a refund (even partial), PayPal will refund the corresponding amount of their fees. We are only charged processing fees by PayPal on payments, including account top ups, but we have elected not to pass these charges on to our customers for now.

To clear up any confusion, we use Braintree (a PayPal company) for our card processing. We use PayPal for, er, PayPal. The reason we have things set up this way is that PayPal does not yet directly offer credit card processing for merchants in Gibraltar.

Please email [email protected] and include the link you have been sent and we will investigate. The link not resolving would suggest that you are using a partial or malformed link...best that we take a look.

OK, this "null" URL issue is a new one for us...thanks alcy for bringing it to our attention. We are speaking to our backend providers to have it resolved. In the interim, might I suggest that anyone suffering with this issue try to replace the "http://null/" with "https://my.alpnames.com/" - not the most elegant solution, but it may work.

Try it and let us know...

If your server/email crashes.. you know your offer rocks :)

Nope!
Already tried that. Not working as the overall structure (everything after "null" is quite different.
This method will just point to a 404 page

Ah! I thought you'd "XXXXX'd" out your token - is this how the email arrived???!!!

Ok I just hacked the URL and it works

Take the first part of the link under terms
http:// alpnXXXXXX.myorderbox.com/

and append the link with the part with the token
/registrant-transfer/authorize?id=XXXXXX&token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

paste as one link and you're good : smile :
http:// alpnXXXXXX.myorderbox.com/registrant-transfer/authorize?id=XXXXXX&token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Code:
If you approve these changes, you'll become the Registered Name Holder for
xxx.com which means you also agree to the terms within our Domain
Registration Agreement:

http://alpnXXXXXX.myorderbox.com/linkhandler/servlet/ViewRegistrarAgreementServlet

To approve or decline these changes, please click on the link below:

http://null/registrant-transfer/authorize?id=XXXXXX&token=xxxxxxxxxxxxx
