I just transferred a name to GoDaddy and updated the Whois contact information. Since it was a registrar transfer, I of course anticipated a 60-day transfer lock. But now the domain has this status:
Transfer locked until 7/12/2017: Contact information change
That is almost half a year! I am waiting to hear from GoDaddy how this can be, but has anyone else experienced this?
Although I only made one contact update, I fear the new ICAAN rules mean an accumulation of 60-day transfer locks. So the transfer itself would be 60 days locked and then any Whois update made will add another 60 days. I sure hope this is not the case...
