The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
depends on what he means by high level domain. maybe a CHIP?

his next tweet reads: "Please ask me via email with your own high level domain name to exchange. 2~3 letter domain name or dictionary level domain name is welcome."

would not trade

Does Twitter allow you to sell/trade twitter names?

IF his follower status was in the xxx,xxx range then that might be a good trade.

So I presume Twitter allows you to sell twitter names. Of course it might be just one big scam. I'd want control of the twitter name before I released any domain. I'd probably want Twitter's approval too.

No! twitter does not, but people do trade.

I was thinking the same

Twitter doesn't allow it officially but people do trade accounts. Just comes down to trust!
Just change email & password of new owner, Job done.

i guess anything is tradable or sellable.. I am sure some do it for gmail accounts... heck some may even do it for weebly addresses or something lol

its odd no one reported this to twitter. it'd probably get taken down in a flash.. plus he may even lose his account??? I don't do twitter.

its one thing to want to sell something like this on some external site somewhere.. a it more hidden.. but to offer it for sale right there??? hmmm

its like putting up an auction on ebay that your selling your ebay user id say.. "bestseller" or something.

good luck with that one. lol

You're right. This person could end up losing the account. Even worse, Twitter could close it right after a trade! His public offering could have ruined the account!

good point!

maybe he can argue his poor english didn't let him understand the terms of twitter hahahah

anyway.. i think someone will just report it. this is like a total insult to twitter. his twitter account is not even his property.

That would actually be a nice grab for you, if he accepted. Twitter handles are very sought after assets. Too bad he posted so publicly though, trading or selling Twitter accounts is against their TOS.

I'm trying to find another thread here...someone was selling a domain along with exact-match social media accounts. It was pretty public, wonder how it panned out.

I have a few domains that I am selling which I am including the exact match twitter handle and gmail.

1. Way too much liability with the trading aspect and trust issue.

2. Twitter has be known to suspend accounts for lesser things.

3. They are obviously savvy with the online industry, so I'm assuming they are looking for a domain equivalent to American.com

Too many neg aspects imo....

Nice. I've kept a couple domains+matching socials in my back pocket as well. Always been one of those "when's the right time to unleash these" lol..

speaking of which, has anybody tried legally bartering domain names for other items of interest and vice-versa? I think it would be ingenious if we could start a domain bartertown. Someone please escalate this. Ty.
