Many of my friend suggested me to post this on namepros so others will less likely to be scamed by shane.

So on 2016-09-26 and 2016-09-27 he bought 374 cvcv.in names and 471 cvcv.in names all together 845 .in names together. (these are random cvcv.in)
together he paid me on paypal 5805 usd.

I pushed the domain to him, then everything is fine. the deal was made through whatsapp chat.
deal closed.
then I saw him selling them on .in markect group, flipped some for higher price.

until 27the decenmber when i log in to my paypal to make another purchase, i see paypal refunded 5805 back to him, then i look up my email, i saw paypal disput which i completed missed.
buyer claim reason: NOT AS DESCRIBED! (this is after he sold and transfer out some of those)

I did not know paypal had this 3 months rules where buyer can claim the money back, and becuase i do not log on paypal so often and get xxx amount of emails every days, so i missed the window that i could have argued with paypal. but well lesson learned.

Some infomation of shane so other can avoid being scamed by him

good news is after I provided all the evidence to the registrar, the registrar moved the remaining (ones he did not sold or transfer out) to my account, so at least i got something back.

Becuareful when using paypal, and becuareful when you trade any domain that was processed by shane.

During the process of getting the unsold domains by shane, I had great help from .in whatsapp group, so special thx who provide information and also special thx to shiva , kemji, alexa and indy who tried to contact shane for me, but he went dark, not picking his cell phone, does not respond back on whatsapp nor linkedin.

Thanks for letting everyone know about it and really sorry that you had to go through this.

Also noticed that Shane's twitter handle is active.

Lets wait to hear from both sides before making any assumptions here

This is too Juicy. I could jump on this. too easy. but let me be good and wait to hear Shane's side of the story before passing judgement. although very tempting! lol let me get my popcorn for this one! sounds crazy though. almost "too" crazy. could Shane really do this?

now I've seen and heard everything. wait and see.

I agree with people voting to hear Shane's side of the story and it is a sane move. However, folks tried to reach him through various avenue and all went into dud. A separate whatsapp group was created to mediate the issue by including both buyers and sellers into that, however no response was received from Shane ever.

Even if now he responds, that'd be great and I would very much like to see that.

PS: Shane Ballone's user account @S-B is closed. @Eric Lyon can you shed some light if it had to do anything with false dealings or some namepros rule violations?

not a good sign! but I do recall last year he said he was taking a break from domaining after selling a whole lot of Palindrome numeric domains.

You can still dispute past the 90 day period if you contact a manager at Paypal. I've had a dispute reversed over a year later after months of communication and evidence. Don't let him get away with this.

I want to hear both sides but nothing really shocks me anymore.

Why did he not reply to the whatsapp group if he is not wrong?

interesting... :grabs popcorn:

see this is exactly why I've hesitated selling domains on NP auctions for this exact reason. PAYPAL.

the small amounts we are talking about with NP auctions or any diy deals done outside of typical marketplaces always end up as a Paypal only option for payment.

now if Shane really did this? and he seemed to be the prince of NP. then who can you trust?

although this deal? wasn't spare change. my question is for this large amount why didn't the OP simply do the deal via Escrow.com? or DN.com?

u don't need to contact anyone. u go open a dispuite from your account. and can now do it for up to 180 days. it got extended a while ago.

it actually looks like before that it was 45 says. so it was never 90 days. the reason op said he was able to open after 90 days, is because of this 180 day extension to begin with. he'd be past the deadline before this new paypal extension.

cheers

Waiting to hear both sides of the story but that's a huge amount to use Paypal with. I'd probably have used an escrow service (Escrow.com, Payoneer, Epik etc)

just couple notes about this:

its also importnat to note that if you deal with paypal, its crucial not to miss emails and deadlines to respond to a dispute.

if this is a regular paypal dispute (not a chargeback) then you will win in all cases if you provide proof of domain transfer, new/old ownerships etc..and do it properly. obviously, if you miss dispute deadlines and do not respond and miss the emails, you lost by default and there is not much to talk about here.

chargebacks are a different story. but it still does not mean just because buyer files chargeback against you, you will atuomatically loose it. its just that for CB the final decision is not up to PP.

so imo what everyone should be more careful about when using paypal is to make sure you get all emails and paritcipate in dispute... versus being afraid to use paypal at all. this is imo a guaranteed win for the seller, had he not missed emails. but.. lesson learned like he said. it's just impotant to get the facts right. there is nothing in this thread which is paypal fault.

that being said paypal is far from perfect for domain deals especially.. and there are tons of stories of pp not doing right unto domainers in various ways. I am just trying to make the point that this should not be made into one of such stories.

well.. good luck in all your dealings.... and do be careful what payment you use especialy for XXXX and up deals.

cheers
