The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Verisign has domainscope-com

It looks interesting, let us all know what you think!!

Why do you care about traffic? Do you care only about traffic numbers? Or its quality? What is better for you - two visitors from California or 200 from Nigeria?

A good way to get started is buying names that already receive traffic and have stats to back it up from users here. A little bit more expensive but still a great way to start.

Also everyone has their own strategy but noone is likely to reveal that strategy because they are just creating compitition for themselves.

I have been getting good at finding high traffic names but it works like I'll buy 5 names in the course of a week that all look promising. Maybe 1 does decent traffic and the rest are all crap. It's a craps shoot because it's not just 1000 ppl that are dedicated to visiting that site even though it is down. Backlinks can become purged. As with seach results. It's an ongoing battle because let's be real. Think if namepros expires... sure day 1 it will get tons of traffic. But people aren't going to keep returning if it's just a parking page. So honestly it's more about being active and staying on top of it then just finding the magic bullet method.

All these are good reasons to start off buying existing sites with constant data, imo it will never be profitable to buy traffic for a name, so in theory if a name has made 1 dollar a day for a year... that previous owner is not buying traffic because it would prob cost him 5 dollars per day...

Where do you buy your domains?

Use expireddomains.net and set the traffic you want in the filter.

Dynadot uses data from Verisign to determine monthly visitors
This stats is just a volume of DNS-requests (of all types incl. MX), it doesn't mean any visitors.

Also almost all of those DNS-requests are generated by bots.

DNS requests are cached by ISPs, routers, operating systems, and browsers, to name a few. The real number of visitors is higher than they report, most often.

The main problem with the data is bot traffic
: visits by robots.

And again: the total volume of DNS-requests to Verisign root servers is absolutely useless...
The only one significant parameter is the domain rank among other domains...
Usually if this rank is >500K - then real human traffic is minimal or even 0.

The most traffic domains are with rank no higher than 100K.

+ each domain must be rechecked via Google to understand the nature of those numbers... spam-domain or not...

And certainly, in many cases these huge numbers are generated by viruses...

Whatever you do .. do NOT trust the traffic data from GoDaddy auctions .. there is a lot of fraud there .. including inflated traffic data.
