Now that 2016 is ending I decided to take stock of all my domains.

Reviewing all my domains..about 500.. made me remember some of the cool domains I had forgotten that I have.

Some of my .xyz and .club might even be worth more now! Anyway, I had forgotten many that I have.. How about you?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I won't be forgetting them anytime soon, with renewals coming up :xf.cry:

my portfolio will change during the next year or so

that said i used to own a few
county/trade in cctld etc and let a few expire etc

then i saw a van with a good local area / trade in cctld on a newish van with good graphics and it looked great do may try to renew a few but as a rule will prefer .com

cheap renewals but have some expensive .online renewals etc

I have so many domains now (lots of bulk buys) that I really really lost oversight.

Got me a nice spreadsheet template with
Name, extension, registrar, renewal time, buying price etc..

all sortable with lots of filters and auto colouring and calculations "if this then that"

eg. auto display # of domains in general, with this registrar, renewal time inside few weeks etc etc..

REALLY helpful. That sheet is always open when I do anything domain related. (Wouldn't have any chance without it haha)

I may share it here on nP after adding some cleanup and explanations..

I won't forget about any of them as basically everything in 3 registrars and currently consolidating everything down to 2 along with having 2 sites that have them all databased registrar, expiration, creation etc... I do enjoy scanning the list after a long time as I'll notice some gems that I forgot I own. Best was when I wanted to buy a domain a year or so ago and hit whois and found out I already own it.

@Silentptnr - Yes, totally - I had completely forgotten three names I had at BigRockIN, they had NET deal recently and I was pleasantly surprised when I logged in and was like oh yeah those! Some of my xyz are pretty cool, proly worth the time I put in during the sales

I need to set up a system to monitor my names. I've had quite a few disappear from my account before expiry. It took about 3 months to get the last one back.

I was thinking of something simple like a standard message page on each domain. I could then run a php loop to go through a list of my URLs to check that each message can be read. If it can't, then it displays an error.

I haven't thought this through, so if anyone has a better idea, then please suggest it.

Oh yes, got you.

If you have a site up (not only forwarded to sedo, GD, etc..)

you can just ping it and know :)

beside pinging services there are also a few ones that allow to detect small changes or changes of certain parts of a site

www.changedetection.com
https://visualping.io
https://versionista.com
https://www.followthatpage.com

..and many more alike

Don't know if that's the kind of services you could be looking for.

PS
I had very good experiences with visual.. and followthat..

I was going to write my own page. If I did this, it would also give me a list of names that I could give to brokers in case they have a client interested in one of the names.

I guess an advanced version could display traffic stats as well. :)

We have a free service called DomainLink that you can use to track your entire portfolio - across registrars and with a built-in reminder system. You can check it out here: https://www.namesilo.com/Support/Domain-Link

It provides domain name, registrar, created, expiration, updated and name servers. You can also use it to track financial performance such as acquisition/registration cost, renewal costs (automatically added) and sale price.

Again, it is totally free :)

Happy New Year!

Thanks for that post namesilo. I've been having a few DNS problems recently, and I've been discussing these in a private forum. One of the members there moved to you a while ago, and he is of the opinion that you offer very good prices, and good support. I intend to move a few names to you during the next few days. The only negative that I could see, was that your .gold names look to be a bit expensive.

Thanks for the consideration. We actually just launched several promotions a few minutes ago and this includes .gold :)
