What's your experience with putting a dedicated landing page for your domain (which lists the benefits etc.) as opposed to the generic page most parking sites give you that just say "this domain is for sale"? Is there anyone here who actually did a split test to see if they get more offers by a dedicated design?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I did, at the beginning of last year (2015).... had my own pages, which slowly evolved but then it became time consuming. Too much upkeep, etc. Nonetheless, I learned quite a bit from that experience.

To be honest, if you can have someone trustworthy deal with those pages, then it's all cool. Bodis has this option, and they are great- fantastic support, trustworthy, etc. At Bodis, you can choose which domains to have a sales lander, and which to park (also with a sales banner-if you want to park it and have it for sale). ParkingCrew is another one which is good which has a banner, but unlike Bodis, they don't have sales landers which you can use directly. It's quite a while back though, but inquiries both Bodis and ParkingCrew resulted in sales for me. Both are also good for parking, if you have domains with traffic that generate revenues.

Check out Bodis-they have those sales landers. :)

Their site is down, are you sure they still exist?

I tried different landing pages from different companies and I tried my own website and now I just have all my domains forward to GoDaddy as a for sale page. Either way to me if they want the domain the will respond via the form on the landing page OR just email you direct. If they want it bad enough the page wont matter as long as it says for sale.

I prefer my own pages as I can do fixed price, make offer, auction, minimum offers, email, phone, ip address, logos, offer verification emails, etc... and also opens up being able to sell ad space or run non obtrusive ads on them as well along with having server side statistics. If I wasn't doing my own I'd probably look at Bodis or Uniregistry (set to self broker) on the free end and Efty on the paid end.

Doing 50% parking, 50% redirects to a Website. Getting inquiries from both therefore can't say one is better than the other.

I think the main thing is, when the domain is entered make sure any interested party has a way to contact you. I don't like blank pages, or any parked page that has no means of contact...

I also liked that about doing it myself-having complete control of my inquiries (except I never held auctions). One thing I realized for me at least, was that I was unable to attend to the inquiries as fast as I would've like to due to time issues.

For now I use a intermediary that engages the buyer if I am unable to attend to the inquiry in a timely fashion. This makes sense for me, and I'm fine with brokerage fees being charged.
