There's nothing special about them...in fact, numeric names are less memorable than average. The Chinese are weird.

I suppose the chinese do like numbers. I can understand them buying 2N 3N or 4N domains

There are ten numbers. 1-9 and 0
There are 27 letters A-Z

For chinese market you eliminate O and 4 so you are left with only 8 possibilities

With letters for chinese market you eliminate a,e,i,o,u,v leaving you with 21 possibilities.

1 number domains there can be only 8 possible domains (extremely rare)
2 number domains you have this equation.
8x8= 64 possible domains. Very rare.
3 number domains you have this equation 8x8x8=512 possible domains.


Letters on thee other hand.

1 letter domains. You can have 21 possible domains.
2 letter? 21x21
3 letters? 21x21x21

NUMBERS BEAT LETTERS IN VALUE BECAUSE numbers WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE LEAST possible PERMUTATIONS (RARE)

Plus if you have repeats? In a numeric domain turns those 8 possibilities into 1 sooooo


1x1x1x1x1x1= 6 possibilities if all same numbers.

I would suggest reading Kassey Lee's "coreile letter" and other sources to learn about Chinese culture and their take on numbers. It's weird but also makes sense.

numbers are very easy to tell by telephone and rarely to mistake
also numbers can be understood by almost all world even those who do not speak english

I have met tons of tourists ( korea, russian, poland, germany ..etc ) who know nothing about english but when it comes to numbers they understand and they can write it down very easily
