Not sure if this is old news, but it's new to me. I stumbled on this because I bought a domain from someone and needed an account to receive by push:

$1 to transfer up to 20 .COM, .NET, .ORG or .CA domains to Rebel.com.

I just transferred 10 over and plan to do 10 more later. Total cost for 10 was $12 (including a $00.20 ICANN fee). For what it's worth, I also had to call in because I had some questions and their phone support answered almost immediately and was pretty helpful. I like their site's UI, too. Might have to consider using them more.

I'm going to click the link 10 times now, man. I'm really going to do it, no matter if it sounds crazy.....

oooh, it sounds just like 1&1.com last year.... they invented some "jokes" this summer, like: "we do not host domains that cannot be registered with us", "you can disable auto-renew but we do not care about it until you call us" ecc...

like I said, smooth sailing start to end except for one email to them to disable auto renewal.
if that makes it as bad or good or identical to 1&1 then I'll take your word for it.
cause I never used 1&1.

hope this helps.
ciao

yes but things like this aren't supposed to just change every few motnhs for no reason.
they can. but they shouldn't.

tag the support guy from rebel. he'll clarify publically for sure.
it would be embarassing for any company to get in the way of smooth transfer out for clients.
in fact its the most embarassing thing a registrar can do.

My experience with them has been great to be very honest. Support is helpful. I can't say otheriwse.

I've been impressed with Rebel support as well.

There are some things that they could implement to cater for domainers and that would keep all of us happy.

They admitted the market they cater to isn't people with a lot of domains.

Nope. You can email them, and they'll do it. It's simple. They'll turn it off.

Yup, sent a ticket and it was taken care of.

I'm unhappy with Rebel.com. I registered a domain name with them and their DNS is not propagating properly. I asked them and they said that it's an issue with my host's nameservers, although all the other websites I have (not with Rebel) have no problems.

You can check the problem here: https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/bohol.co

I can't transfer the domain name out because it's not yet 60 days.

Most probably they are right about the problem arising from your host. Because it's nothing to do with registrar. If you say ns records didn't update fast or didn't update at all, that would be registrar's problem, but registry whois lookup says it's already set to your desired ns records.

This is most probably because your domain is not hosted over dns server of where ns1 and ns2 cuberpixeldigital.com is pointing to. Please try with removing hosting account of bohol.co and re setting in your hosting if it's possible to do so, or check dns records over host of bohol.co

Not their fault. It can take hours for the DNS to propagate. In the meantime, Is your server configured correctly?

I have dozens of client and personal websites pointing to those nameservers, no problems with any of them. Only this domain I got from Rebel has a problem. Because of this, I can't submit a sitemap to Google Webmasters (will show DNS errors) and Google cannot crawl my site. My links in Google are already old, new links are not indexed.

Thanks for your suggestion though. I will try pointing the domain to Namecheap nameservers to see if the DNS errors will go away.

Is this offer still valid? I checked their website for .com transfer. It shows more than $10 when I try to transfer.

there are no .com transfer deals on rebel now

have not been for a long while

and I personaly do not expect them to have any in near future.

Unbelievable. Your domains have already been transferred out and sitting comfortably in another registrar, and yet Rebel still continues to charge your credit card for the renewal of those domains.

Did you try removing your card? There is a link to remove your card. Don't know if that will force you to enter new one.
I used their promotions only because I knew my card will expire before any domains renew.

You forgot to turn-off auto-renew? However, your domains don't still be there so why they still charge you? :(

Rebel needs to give us better payment methods. I love how they don't accept paypal or my platinum visa debt card thanks rebel. You suck #rant

Forgetting to switch off auto-renew and removing your credit card, do not make any sense if the domain is no longer with Rebel.

I could think a simple programming code will do -

Start Program
Check domain status.
Is domain still with Rebel?
If Yes, then charge credit card.
If No, then don't charge credit card because it's crazy.
End Program.

Being thrify, I was among the lucky few to get the transfer promo, it's not really that great - $6.17 with ICANN, my names are due this month, they are personal use, so I don't want to futz around.

How long does it take to verify WhoIs, it's been sitting for hours. Should I refresh?

hoping for renewal codes for here because most of my names that are up for renewal are on domain.com/netfirms/dotster. :(

I just emailed rebel to turn off auto renew. I guess now, I will have ability to turn it on or off.
It is auto renew by default, but once it's turned off , the option to turn it on is there.
How nice of them :)
imadoer, I seem to be able to pay with paypal, think i always have
Here is message from them

Thank you for your email. I have disabled the automatic renewal feature for your Rebel.com account. You will now have the ability to toggle auto renewal on or off. It is accessible on the Domain Manager page in your account (a small infinity symbol beside each domain name).

I am setting this ticket to solved, but please feel to contact us with any further questions.

Sincerely,

Al
