How do you avoid the 60 day lock?

The design of this is so bad...

Screenshot 2016-12-12 10.56.46.png

Is the right LOCKED?

I moved it to the left. Is that the correct way to avoid the lock?

Thanks.

Anyone tried to push a newly registered domain to other GoDaddy account? Does it work?

I sent godaddy support my screen shot 3 times and they wouldn't answer my question. They just kept saying stuff like:

"Only updating the registrant first/last name or organization will impose the 60 day lock. ^Nate"

I'm like COME ON GODADDY - RIGHT OR LEFT FOR UNLOCKED?!?!

I don't think they test their customer support tests their own software or knows now to use it (i get this is a new feature, but when i new feature rolls out - the whole team should know how it works!)

Sorry, how do you get to this page?

When you try to change your contact info, the old email address will receive an email to confirm the changes. You click through, and you get to this page on godaddy. Not shown in my screen shot, you would see both the old and new contact info above what I am showing here.

Just bumping this up. What is the official answer again?

Which way do I move the switch to avoid a 60 day lock?

left/gray or right/green?

Thanks.

Speaking strictly from a design standpoint, it indicates this:
  • Green/right is locked (Will enable 60-day lock and prevent transfers)
  • Gray/left (your screenshot) is not locked (Will not have a 60-day lock and will not prevent transfers).
However, it could work differently, but that's how it should work based on UI design principles. ;) GoDaddy will be able to tell us exactly how it works once they have a moment. @Joe Styler

Hope that helps,

like Eric said... I've seen worse designs than this imo ;)

p.s. gd just reworked their whole transfer process I am told. no more silly security codes to enter like they did when dinos roamed the earth.. now previous owner just gets an approve button email. my first try at this was today.

I just tried it on a domain and if the lock is off - to the left - grey not green when you accept the change then no 60 day lock was added to my domain.
