Nice catch, I cannot confirm it was recovered so assume it was not. I would have to place another call into Russell but does not look like it. I would also like to state that Sedo should certainly NOT allow this sale unless they confirm ownership with Russell as it was stolen.

I can only offer my help John and I did, not everyone takes it and think they can do it alone. What can I say...

Both Sedo support and Dave Evanson have been notified, hope Dave can step in, only guy we know at Sedo.

"Dave its Josh, see attached links, Osos.com is a stolen name, I suggest sedo stop the auction, ban the account and users IP etc. The community is watching. Unless sedo can confirm with Russell Steele (see whois history) name was recovered and he is selling it, unlikely as he is not Russian, Id cease.

Thanks I was planning to go all the way to win on Sedo. Today morning I found listing is not there anymore so I was wondering why it is not there. I was tracking daily to see highest bid. Now I know why listing is not there.

Thanks

Dave and sedo legal have now been put in touch with Russ Steele the rightful owner, see what they conclude, out of our hands. Good work everyone.

I would like to think that is odd but I am sure what is going on is quite easy to understand. The thieves are just "fencing" it for each other. Ultimately if it is for sale suddenly again it means it never actually sold the last time, follow me. The thieves are still trying to unload it.

Sad case if Sedo let that transaction happen privately, real or not. Time to contact flippa, again. The thieves will try to add separation between the initial theft and the current owner thinking it makes it harder to recover. What they fail to understand is, it doesn't! It does not matter how many times a stolen item is sold or resold it is still stolen and still recoverable.

If this is true I am ashamed of sedo, I am asking Dave Evanson now if this was allowed after knowing it was stolen.

osos.com 2,550 USD 2016-12-10 Sedo

What baffles me is they were notified just 4 days ago while in auction. They stopped the auction yet is closed firm another way within this time frame? Very odd indeed.

The domain was not sold at sedo. The auction was cancelled. Now the thief is trying to sell the domain at flippa.

Hhhmmm so why did namebio show that result?

I hope you are right John, on a side note I have notified Flippa as well.

Flippa just replied to me as well and have halted the sell, investigating.

Is it not funny no one shows up and protests the blocking of the sale attempts, goes to show these thieves are desperate and the community nor sales platforms no longer fall for their "oh it sold to someone else already" routine. These are fences and teams. This name has sold to no one who is not tied to them.

Hopefully Flippa holds strong as Sedo has to this point.

Thanks Cy, it certainly takes a village.

Flippa said they are asking for proof of legal purchase from seller until that time they are satisfied the sale and account are banned. Now I have seen many thieves create fake sales forms payment etc so hopefully Flippa is quick enough not to be fooled. Heck p2p.com was a prime example at the length a thief will go. If you guys ever read that story youll see.

We may not stop the theft of domains for good but as long as we can make them harder to move and less valuable to the thief that's a start.

Sedo replied today that for sure the name osos.com was NOT sold there and namebio likely just took the auction ending for a sale, wrongly of course. Sedo is taking action and working to do what is right, it will take the rightful owner to take it further.

The record has been removed. When an auction disappears it is sometimes difficult to tell if it is because it ended or was deleted. Sedo confirms that this domain name did not actually sell, kudos to them for being so quick to act and to JP for bringing it to their attention.

Any idea if this name was ever recovered by the owner? It was just offered to me via my website contact page.
