Has anyone had any experience in using RAMPED.com?
Never heard of them before so assume they are new?

Noticed the banner ad here at NP, and had a quick scan earlier today.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Took over a while but got my first submission approved. Will post it soon and hope for the best

Great platform, awesome support by @McKay Taylor

Only premium domains makes this platform different than any other platform and I hope it stays that way.

Guys, I am sure you love your domains but don't submit every other domain you have in your portfolio.. it'll be a waste of valuable time (both yours and McKay's). Only submit great domains.

Thanks.

Thanks @Haris100

While we do love that everyone is submitting lots of names to Ramped, we do ask to try and keep domains submissions as close to Ramped's approval guidelines as possible. As this will help the overall turn around for all domains submitted on the platform :)

Another thing I thought I should mention (and realized many users didn't know they had this available to them).

Every Ramped member "gets/has" their own "Auction Profile Page".

This is list of all the names they have approved and are currently in auction. You can customize your profile picture, as well use this page to link and share all the names you currently have in auction.

To find a members page you would just go to Ramped.com/member/@"ExampleUser"

So if your user name was @mckay for example, your public profile page would be:

https://ramped.com/member/@McKay

Just thought i'd mention that for any members who didn't know that already.

Thank you all for the positive feedback, and look forward to continue seeing you all here at Ramped! :)

Hey @pleasega,

So sorry to hear you haven't heard anything back yet.

If you don't mind sharing your @ramped user name or the domain you submitted I'm more then happy to take a look at where it's at in its approval cycle. :)

Cheers,

- McKay

My username is pleasega. What's taking so long?

I have been waiting for 2 weeks and still no approval. I'm guessing it's not by order of submission.

I guess currently they are not able to handle the quantity of submissions, the approval team is in a hurry to clear the backlogs and failing to research on the domain names.

Below is the reply I've received to the submitted domain " Musique,in" which means Music in French.

I've written back to them but haven't heard back for over a week now.

" Sorry, your domain name was not approved.
Unfortunately, we couldn't approve your domain name musique.in for auction at this time.

A note from the Ramped staff:
Although this means "hornet" in latin. It sadly doesn't have enough buyer demand at the moment to be approve. First we want to apologize for any delay. Do to the recent spike in submissions we have shorted the detailed reasonings given behind each rejection, in order to have a faster turn around time for your domain rejection/approvals…………………….... "

Hey @oswin_mb . Yes your correct. We are currently being swamped with submissions at the moment, and we are doing our very best to get as much background research and details in regards to a name as possible, before accepting or rejecting a name.

Each name submitted is sent to a section of our brokerage and marketing team that handles that 'niche' of domain names. In this case it would be a .in domain name. For every name approved on Ramped we then spend time marketing each name to potential end users, pre-established leads, and paid ad space.

While we aren't perfect, we are doing our best in getting a fast turn around turn time for names, while still doing proper 'pre-approval' marketing and inquiries to see if we have potential buyers for the names.

Sadly we have many users who are slowing down this process by submitting domains that aren't even registered yet, and simply are using Ramped as a portal to see if its worth 'regging'.

While we do have a system to check for a majority of these, some ccTLD's as well as nGTLD's don't have as simple API for whois record check systems in place. So when users do submit names that fall out of Ramped's user guidelines it hurts the Ramped community as a whole.

We are working hard to really create a marketplace that is ideal for the domain name investor, helps the domain community as a whole, as well (ultimate goal) benefits the end user. (This is what we feel needs to occur in order to create a solid and genuine marketplace setup in the domain business).

At this time Ramped is Primarily a platform for English domain names. While we are expanding our Ramped team at this moment we don't have any brokers fluent enough in the french domain enduser 'niche' along with it being a .in to feel we can do our due diligence in approving and marketing that name for your benefit.

We do hope you understand and sincerely apologize if you feel the name was not given the proper time in doing the background research about its full potential.

We still hope to see you at Ramped, and I want to thank you personally for bringing this to MY attention so i can make sure we can continually make Ramped better.

Regards,

- McKay

It's time to block some users that can't follow the guidelines....

Thankyou @McKay Taylor for the quick reply, seems I can resolve my issue here quicker than the support email.

I understand the difficulties you are facing to get the process in place but these issues need to be addressed before the platform is made public. As you have mentioned the domains extension you are accepting, please make a note in the FAQ/Guidelines that you can only accept english domain name at present, save us the trouble of submission and wait times.

Decided I'll wait it out for some time before I return.

All the best.

Oswin

I emailed the owner and heres what he was telling me, which might possibly help the cause -

They try to keep only 1 type per name running at once / If your name has not yet been aproved, or denied it is currently in the hands of a broker trying to find a private sale for it. This is what they do before they put it up to auction - (or maybe even to try to find some interest in the auction before it launches.) Well well see i still have no clue how it will go, but i see some kind of interest here you dont see at any other smaller shop auction sites

Just want to report that I finished an auction purchase at Ramped using Escrow.com for payment. Everything went smoothly, so I feel confident about using the platform moving forward.

I agree with you. We just didn't want to pull 'swift' on any user. Transparency and honesty is king. Especially when it comes to marketplaces. & We are really making sure we stick to those core values here at Ramped.

Let me see what I can get done here on my end, as we are actively working with both the domain community and the end user community (from startups, incubators, think-tanks) etc.. In order to make sure we make both sides happy :)

@hookbox if you want to PM me I can hook you up with some more credits in the mean time!

Really appreciate the feedback though :)

20 mins ago i knew nothing about ramped but thanks to this thread i now know a lot more about ramped

contracts for answering forum posts in a clear concise manner it gives domainers confidence in founders or co founders objective for ramped

why not add the $5 to the sale comission fee?

long term the $5 will send good quality domains elsewhere and effectively be like a car permanently stuck in 1st gear where free domain listing will attract good quality domains to your platform

people like free

I agree 100% with @Cristi Marin. I really like the UI and vetting process. And I can confirm the 3 free listings. I just got another 3 domains (2 x.info and 1 x.com) rejected. Im glad and agree with this decision. I would MUCH rather list my domains here then on Flippa. My one domain that got accepted already has 2 bids in less than 24 hours. This would NEVER have happened on Flippa as it is too saturated with sub standard domains and everyone is trying to get in the "Most Popular Auctions" list for their domain to even be seen,.

Well done Ramped! I hope that in future you would consider premium .co.uk and .co.za domains as well.

.co.uk domains haven't really got started yet

But it won't be long before .co.uk start selling for proper pie in the sky prices

It costs 1 credit.
