FOG is the new CLOUD.

Has anyone been reading up on Fog Computing recently? Cisco have brought it to the table to aid the Internet of Things (again).

Anyway, don't know much about it and it's yet another new buzz word to appear this year but I'm starting to get 'registration fatigue' ;) so feel free to look it up and see what's available, although I was surprised at how many FOG related domains have already gone. My two are:

FogServers.com

Fog360.com

Have to agree although it's surprising there's not been even one reported sale yet. Still, not dropping mine for the foreseeable future. Just in case :)

I'm not dropping mine either there's a lot more buzz now then a year ago I'm always checking the latest developments. Fog computing looks like it will take off. I just hope the domains will along with it.

Fog computing and the OpenFog Consortium
http://internetofthingsagenda.techt...enda/Fog-computing-and-the-OpenFog-Consortium

Fog computing is a system-level horizontal architecture that distributes resources and services of compute, storage, control and networking anywhere along the continuum from the cloud to the things.

This new capability will fill the technology gaps to meet the new requirements of the emerging IoT applications, many which may not have been possible with a cloud-only environment. This can then help a broader range of industries and consumer sectors increase their abilities to support IoT and other emerging applications, which can include anything from existing and future performance-critical, mission-critical and life-critical applications.

Reason I decided to grab this is because I got an interesting inbound query on the same name without "the". Offer requested.

Why Fog Computing will be the next big thing

Being in a fog used to be a bad thing. Not anymore. Now “fog” (as in fog computing) just might be the best path toward bringing the Internet of Things (IoT) – and the networking, computing, and data associated with IoT – to the level of efficiency that will make it pervasive.

I have pervasive/cloud and pervasive/grid, looks like a popular technology going forwards.

Got a high $X,XXX offer last week on one of my FOG domains. Pretty confident 2017 will mean a breakthrough for this niche!

Seeming as the lead is dead I may aswell expand on this. The inquiry originated from a Cisco office IP and someone who works there. Requested an offer, no response. Set a BIN price with mid $xxxx the mail was opened once and never looked at again.

Just another junk lead at Uniregistry by the looks of it by someone who happened to be at Cisco. Shame as it looked so promising on the surface. On a side note I'm going to move away from Unireg landers, too much crap gets through and lead quality is abysmal, all that time spent dealing with crap leads, I'll never get it back!
