The internet domain registrar and web hosting company is making it easier to search for and register available emoji-based domains. On Friday, the company launched a search engine for emoji domains. People can visit the site on their phones, type in a string of emoji and see if the domain is available.
As more of the world increasingly uses the internet on phones and other mobile devices, a flood of emoji-based domains seems inevitable. Heck, even the Touch Bar on Apple's new MacBook Pro will let you type in emoji, something that's difficult to do with a traditional computer keyboard...

Considering only the Emoji that are enabled by default on mobile devices, Emoji domains are more rare than three-letter (LLL) domains. They'd be exceptionally valuable and popular in .com, .net and .org TLDs.

I'd buy :ninja:.com for fun and ❤.com for resale value. (Actually, I'd buy them all if I could. :greedy:)

My coffee cup emojis is not similar to online coffee cup. It is custom made; noticed the steam coming out from the cup has 7 steams and there are 7 dots on a cup.

I'll need a new phone to see a couple of my latest emoji purchases. They are in the newest unicode and don't show up on my current phone (Samsung S5).

I didn't see any coffee bean emoji there yet; maybe you can find it for me. And post it here :sneaky:
This is really cool, you can submit your own emoji.

Try searching with the word "Unicode" after your search phrases to find what you want.☕
How do you get the URL, once you find the Unicode?
For example if I search for the unicode for Hot beverage, I get: U+2615

How do you get the required domain name for this, so that one can register?

Type it into your browser (most will convert it for you) with .ws on the end, or use a punycode converter.

☕ in punycode is xn--53h.

Then you can check its availability and buy it using a TLD that allows it and a registrar that supports it.

An easier way is to go to WebSite.ws and enter it. I used ❤ and it shows:

What's stopping other extension from supporting them? Why only .ws?

The Interent is run by 10 grumpy old men who hate kittens.

But seriously, if you browse through some older posts on this thread you will see why.

It's a security concern, IMO. Deceiving URLs of banks and other websites can be created using Unicode characters that look like domains of trusted companies and could easily fool most internet users.

I personally think it's time to allow emoji in other domain names to help promote & express themselves online.
It's what the internet is based on- freedom of expression!

People are now well aware of online fraud & they are no longer as easily fooled!..
Hats off for Western Samoa & allow them to be used!

Fair enough, but this can easily be addressed. They could simply disallow characters that look like other letters, yet allow most of the picture Emojis.

That's pretty much how it works now.
