Today .Blog extension open it's door. I don't like their pricing setup and thousand of keyword reserved, but what the hell. Let me get some.

I registered CyberWar.blog and now redirecting to my cyber security blog.
What's your plan using .blog extension aside the obvious "blog" posting. Let's exploit the possibility, care to share what's on your mind? What domain you successfully registered and what's your plan for the next 12 months?

Thank you,

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I've got 1 but in Dutch
Bierwereld.blog (beer world)

I'm a Belgian brewer and beer sommelier so I think I'm just going to put up a blog with my tasting notes.

I tried to register 6 names.
I got the 3 Dutch names I wanted.
I got ThaiFood.blog
Thailandtravel.blog is now on auction so I wasnt the only one.

And Trump.blog seems to be a mystery..........
When I preregisterd it was priced at reg fee, although Clinton.blog and Obama.blog were both premium. So I guessed that they were no Trump lovers at Wordpress.
But now it didnt go to auction and I didnt seem to get it, so now I guess they suddenly became Trump lovers at Wordpresss after all......

You're not the only one. Wordpress seems to reserved a lot of keywords for them to keep.

$27.99 at goodaddy. I see the few for my geographic area are gone. Any chance an end user would get a deal is gone. It's just another extension to me. I keep thinking if .net failed, why won't the new ones.
Except .xyz.lol

8888.blog 130k per year :xf.grin:

Same thing happen to Chris, when he tried to pre-register "chris.blog" domain. I can't find his link for reference.

It is of no worth unless you want it for a specific reason

All keywords are reserved and even the low volume keywords are showing 10000 $ a year

Not a good way to start for them

"blog" is an outdated word..
so i have 0 .blogs

In the current situation where a blog is one of the basic types of websites, maybe even the most common type of website, I wouldn't say the word "blog" is outdated. As a phenomenon, blogging might have seen its heyday but the word "blog", both as a noun & verb, isn't going anywhere any time soon IMO.

Edit: Not that I like the extension...

Could be a good use for redirect? Don't you think?

Having owned and sold many GTLDs anything outside of a single keyword to the left of the dot is a hard sel, if it's for personal use that is fine, for resale you are barking up the wrong tree
