Dear Partners,

EURID, the registry operator of .EU domain names, updates domain's expiry processing rule, and will be effective on November 23, 2016. The new rule will complete phase out the renewal credit. To conform with EURID's new rule, registrar has to delete domain names by their expiration date, unless you wish to renew and extend the registration term. Once the domain name is deleted, it will fall into "Quarantine" pool, which will incur additional fee to restore it. Thus, to avoid deletion of .EU, please renew it 24 minimum hours before its expiry date.

For protection of domain name, earlier renewal is advised. As we see some partners regularly renew .EU domain name after its expiry date, please do take this into consideration!

Sorry if this has already been posted. I've just received this email from a registrar. Given the disintegrating state of the EU, will this additional problem affect the value of EU names?

From a registrar? This means .EU has no redemption grace period?

It was from OnlineNIC. It seems to be worse than the loss of the RGP, it seems to take away the 30 day renewal discretion period for expired names.

It looks like a scam by EURID to try to scratch some extra revenue while the EU is still in existence.
